Preface: I used to not understand why people would get mad when a show is overrated on MDL. I guess today is the day I have an epiphany. This show is rated at 8.4, meaning it is supposedly as good as: Love me if you dare, Misty, The beauty Inside and City Hunter; and better than: Liar Game and Secret.
What an overrated drama! Did I watch the same thing as everyone? To me the acting was often cringey (the sister is the worst), the story stagnant, redundant and overly complicated (at the same time childishly simple). The space was very poorly used, you could see that because of the pandemic they didn't want to employ too many extras. Great decision, but then they should have chosen less grandiose spaces that easily feel empty (their office building was ridiculously huge and I wonder how they dealt with the acoustic in a glass and metal tall empty space btw). Certain scenes were laughable because of the emptinesss (the yoga session where the FL and the 2nd FL are almost in a different room from the extras. I mean, it could've been done better. At the end I was just watching out of stubbornness. I did rate it a 6 out of 10, because of the originality of the FL but I wonder if I'm not too generous. I understand that rating is highly subjective and I don't wish to offend anybody, just needed to express my surprise.
Yes! Funny, how I was thinking of I Have A Lover and came to check if any of the leads had a new drama coming. How nice that I had a double surprise waiting for me. I'm crossing my fingers so hard it hurts.
So did you? I'm wondering wgich version I should watch
Ok thank you very much. I already watched 3 episodes of the korean version, so I'll just keep on with it. I have high hope since you say that it's pretty much the same drama LOL.
I’m I have to say this but what is she an married woman doing in an hotel with 2 men ? ? Raping is 100% wrong…
Yeah, you really shouldn't say that. Because it seems like you're saying that she's partially responsible for her own rape. You see, we all know that it's not the best idea to be alone with male strangers, yet sometimes it happens. Like the other day, I needed help for my dissertation. I asked my senior and he said: fine, come to my place around 6p.m. So I went, and ended up staying there till 10, working. I even drank some water he gave me. If he had drugged and raped me, would I need to go around explaining my reason for being in his studio appartment at night? Would my reason even be good enough for you? What about my neighbor, would he find this a good enough reason for me to have been there? All this to say, let's stop putting the victims of rape on trial.
I though for the age gap of the cast this must be a noona romance but it had a completely different concept, I…
The concept for this show is much closer to an american movie named "chances are" with young Ironman. That being said, I like it well enough, it's good for a thai lakorn, pretty innovative. But if you're used to watching kdrama, it will seem a bit simple LOL.
how is it? I watched the first episode, when it was still going on, and I dropped it for cgi. is it worth watching?
on episode 9 and no regrets yet. It got a bit draggy from episode 4 to 7 (for my tastes) but then the romance kicks up. I have hope that it will be good till the end.
True, RSY was awesome/more psycho there but I think I liked the main leads chemistry here better, and a few other…
Hello, yes I completely agree. Love in Sadness solely relies on RSY's performance and the resemblance between the two lead actresses. Other that, everything is better in Let Me Introduce Her. That being said, the difference in quality is not big enough for me. But maybe as you said, having watched LIS first, I couldn't really appreciate the mystery element in LMIH. I think LMIH is a better drama all around but LIS is better produced, plus that phenomenal villain. Unfortunately LIS also had the most boring male lead I've EVER seen on kdrama. hahaha How would you rank the dramas?
Very similar to Love In Sadness. A mix of both would've made for the perfect show. The villain here is lacking compared to Ryu Soo Young performance. Because his performance was so great, LIS didn't need to rely on the mystery for too long. Let Me Introduce Her drags the mystery for so long that when the pieces are complete, you might be a bit disappointed.
I'm smiling from ear to ear while writing this. Finally someone appreciates Queen of SOP as much as I do. I feel like this drama is so underrated. Though it would probably not be on my top ten dramas of the decade, I'm happy to see it getting some love. I wholeheartedly agree for Secret Garden, if only for the sheer icon status this drama has. Last month I was browsing my Youtube subsciptions and saw the thumbnail for a new video. A guy wearing a blue tracksuit with big, white, tacky stars on it, and a very obvious dark sideswept hairpiece. Everything one the thumbnail was off and yet so recognizable. And I immediately clicked on it and had a bit of a laugh. This drama has created a lot of those clichés that we roll our eyes at nowadays LOL
I watched it while it was airing, but I was curious to read this article and see what expectations the Jojo had when writing it. The article is very engaging and well made. Unfortunately the drama didn't live up to it, nor to the expectations most watchers had for it. I wish the plot as thought out as the production, but I really feel like the writers just dropped the ball on this one.
