Enjoyed the first two episodes. Is there a law in Korea that stipulates that every drama must have a murder mystery…
"These type of dramas where the FL is working herself to the bone they always have a useless brother. It would be nice to show the entire family working together to make ends meet." Too true. I guess it is social commentary on how a patriarcal society spoils the males (aka the heirs) while the female learns from a young age that she needs to justify her existence? I went to see if I could find a drama with poor siblings and a brother/sister team. I could only think of Jealousy Incarnate. the FL is working herself to the bone to secure her smart brother entry in a top uni and I love that the brother is totally dedicated to studying. I think he hides to take a part time job (not sure).
First time watching Thai GL (or any GL at all) so I don't know if all GLs have that degree of skinship. But it reminds me of thai BL, with guys making out left and right when in the straight lakorns, it's all about that thumb on the lips hehe.
If you're not a fan of the actors, I'd like to warn you that this rating might be a bit inflated by enthusiasm. It's not a bad drama, it's actually really cute and enjoyable (the first half). For a moment I was thinking I had such a great time watching those teenagers antics. It was more about bubbly puppy love than any actual plot éléments, that said it's like the show runners really wanted us to take the mystery side very seriously. I think it was a mistake because the payoff was not there. At around episode 9, the show starts running in circle and I had to FFW a bit to get to the resolution, which was unconvincing. That said I was happy to see the leads have their happy ending, although I feel that the writers could have easily shared a bit of that happiness amongst more of the characters but that's okay. All in all, this is not a show I would recommend to anyone, except, maybe, someone who really wants something easy to watch and to forget. Now for the big fans who don't know how to live with other people criticizing their favorites, please do your worst then go have a cold drink. It'll be alright. I still love you.
kdrama will do that to you haha. I'm not a crier myself, especially while watching tv. But with kdramas, I'm always…
The Beauty Inside is a great first Kdrama, I loved it! Yes, I also have a hard time with western shows nowadays, I think the stakes maybe are blown out of proportion, which makes it all meaningless. It's always the world, or billions, or life or death. Whereas kdramas usually get at a human level. The stakes are much lower, thus much easier to relate to. My first drama was The Suspicious Housekeeper, man I cried so much! Very heavy topics and kdramas never hesitate to put even kids through the wringer, obviously you see a kid go through some stuff, you WILL cry!
Will Jung Won have something going on Dae Beom? I saw a photo of them kissing while Seung Joon watched. Also the…
Nothing going on with Dae Beom, he's just smitten with her. I don't recall the kiss, maybe I skipped this scene, at some point I was really FFWwatching. The kid is a major weak point for Jung Won and it makes Seung Joon jealous, so everything related to the kid is just jealousy fodder for Seung Joon, that's all.
