It's not surprising; unlike Germany, Japan never really took accountability after 1945 and the end of the war.…
In the grand scheme of things..
Mao Zedong - Chinese Communist leader (1949-1976) is estimated to have killed between 40-70+ million of Chinese (by torture, famine, execution etc). The exact number of deaths is difficult to determine due to the secretive nature of their government and it could be a lot more. That didn't stop at Mao either. This evil gov is still going strong today, doing all kinds of fun things to it's people.
Bottom line, (not to excuse Japan) unit 731 deaths are nothing compared to what China has done / doing to it's own people.
I liked this show a lot. I really enjoyed the concept, story, acting, etc. I quite like the ending. I understand…
Could be explained like this -
They wouldn't be "kidnapped" or missing for any great length of time.
They arrived on the bus same like the beginning, as scheduled.
They are drugged and connected to a brain-computer interface (read and write signals from/to the brain). This creates the VR. It is shown that the VR can control their behavior & their memory etc. Thus it would be able to control their perception of time. Meaning they can play the game many times in a few hours. This is why they didn't need to be hooked up in matrix pods (nutrient / waste tubes etc).

Could have went to drug rehab and found God (or acted it).
Could have had a shaman throw salt & red beans at him in a grandiose ritual and cure him.
Could have gotten psychological help.
Could have retired / moved away (been in lots of films/dramas good $).
Could have devoted himself to helping the unfortunate / abused.
Could have been a monk and never spoke again.
No, death is the only answer!??
And play Death's Game with Park So Dam?
She said they "haven't been there long and played the game dozens of times".
Bright notes, in the new game FL knows the truth; Jung Won (regardless of adjustments) is on her side; and dad feels bad (hinder mom's revenge?).
Leave it up to you? A chance to escape? a s2?
Yeah the ending was meh, but I still enjoyed it =)
RIP
Not really, but is something very different and I like to put it on the big screen, on loop, and stumble in periodically to see what Tak is doing π
