also, if you think Taewan should end up with Jinsung's brother simply because he's lgbt, you need to wake tf up. And if that's what ends up happening, that is not a happy ending, that's pushing Taewan out of the way so Ahjin and Jinsung can live happily ever after, despite everything that's happened.

What Jinsung did was not okay. He doesn't deserve either of them, period.

I personally started with 1988 and then watched '97 later. '88 is more slow-paced as compared to '97, so I probably would've lost interest in '88 if I saw '97 first, bc I would've ended up comparing the two.
