1) Were senior and Zit in a relationship? (or they just simply met during the hospital?)
2) Whom did the senior like? Chien-yu or his Brother or Zit? I understand that he joined sign lang club for the brother, but later actions ... I'm unable to confirm whether he had feelings for those two juniors
3) I need a detailed analysis of this movie (if someone finds it, let me know :D)
Ok, SPOILER WARNING!!Sorry if my explanation is a bit confusing cuz the story is amazingly written in a labyrinth…
If you want a chronological way of understanding in novel:
General Yai (19th century) suddenly meets a mysterious boy named Jom, wearing mysterious clothing. Their encounters happen, fall in love and Jom had to part at an unfortunate moment. General Yai gets sad and yearns for him
20th century. Khun Yai meets a mysterious boy on a riverbed. He feels a strange longing feel towards that boy, Jom. Their encounters in that timeline happen. Jom parts away. Again here, Khun Yai becomes devastated and yearns for Jom.
21st century. Someone from Khun Yaiās brotherās lineage, who looks almost like Yai will appear before Jom at the end of the novel, with all of the past memories rejoiced with Jom, who had just returned from all of his time travel. He went through two heartbreaks during his traveling. The Yai from 21st century seemed to be the one who appointed Jom to renovate that house.
Everything happens for a reason. Itās wonderful to read and understand (feel) more of it.
Ok, SPOILER WARNING!!Sorry if my explanation is a bit confusing cuz the story is amazingly written in a labyrinth…
Paradox is a time-loop phenomenon where itās hard to tell the start or ending point. It is a circle of butterfly-effect of events. Itās not explicitly defined here in story, but once you finish the novel, you will understand it happens through Jomās time traveling process.
In novel, Jom first time travel jump is to 20th century (Khun Yai) His second one is from 20th to the 19th century (meets General Yai) But⦠chronologically, General Yai events happen for the first time (it was Jomās second time travel) And then Khun Yai events unfold (Jomās first time jump) And the last Yai (Jomās return to the present after the time travel loop)
Here, the paradox is for jom who travels from the present. Remember he works on a renovation of a house? That house is already linked to Jom basically who was there in 19th and 20th centuries respectively. His art works were there already before his first time travel commenced. Unintentionally, Jom had to travel back in time to create those fates and establish connections. Only then, his āanotherā future self can travel back again for another ride. Itās a loop. Hence my paradox theory. (You can refer grandfather axe paradox theory if you want to understand it better)
I know itās confusing but if you think about it, it supports my argument. Why would Jom from 21st century had to travel back in time in the first place? Cuz the fateful meetings of 19th and 20th century has already happened by then.
The closest I could vaguely associate were I canāt reach you 2023Kamisama no Ekohiiki (Godās Favoritism) 2022More…
Thanks for more suggestions. Iām sure it happens in a Japanese countryside river-bed where two mothers met coincidentally, and happily acknowledging their childrenās relationship as they were friends themselves.
Iām having this replay of dreams since a long time ago, and the plot has a nuanced Japanese notion encoded; So we can definitely rule out the recent mov/series (time of fever, living with him) and also some social problematic themes (perfect propose and Tokyo in April is - modern work life loneliness)
Also the mothers reconnection happens while the boys are still in late teenage or early 20s age⦠I think
I will try to rewatch Kimi No Koto Dake Mitae Itai, Kamisama No Ekohiiki, I canāt Reach You⦠Cuz for now, these have the highest chances of being close to my assumption.

I was trying to answer those who felt confused, non-pleased or dissatisfied with their experience with the story, by making them understand their conflicted parts and eventually recommending the novel.
I really want this masterpiece (of simply written literary work) to be popular among many š
Have you read the novel? It is one of the most beautiful piece of work I have ever read in my life. It was like…
You have answered everything, leaving me no arguments to counter your comment (š ) EXCEPT ā¦. The translated work I read was amazingly done. So much so that it felt like words were dancing in my mouth. I literally lived through Jomās monologue. I have no say to back up the adaptation but I sincerely hope you read the novel before you forget this storyās notion š„¹
I couldnāt find the online source when I read it back then but I hope you donāt give up on this ;)
To simplify, There should be three Yai (19th century-GeneralYai; 20th century-KhunYai; 21st century-Yai)
Before the time traveling, Jom had already made changes in the past (both 19th and 20th centuries timeline) and thus the birth of a paradox !!! Which means Jomās encounter with GeneralYai already had been completed in 19th; which results in giving his next supposed reincarnation KhunYai from 20th, a pensive feeling of longing for someone (thatās why when Jom first time traveled to his riverbed, KhunYai suddenly felt a striking soulmate connection when their eyes meet)
The plumeria tree, a ring and the house are all timeless pieces of symbolising their existence (of togetherness) throughout the different timelines.
Let me address your questions: 1) The moustache one is the GeneralYai from 19th century. Him appearing in the beginning of the series (rescue underwater) is a mere foreshadowing to Jomās second timetravel. Itās just what Jom sees (like a mirageā¦Idk⦠it is based on our own interpretations). I forgot how exact the transition of Jomās timetraveling from 20th to 19th takes place but, the second part of the novel starts with Jom emerging out of a cave-river and finding himself infront of a tribe/army where GeneralYai is present. Jom did not return to the present like they showed in the series until he completed all his encounters in 19th with GeneralYai. 2) The present timeline Yai is not KhunYai. Heās a different character who is from that present timeline itself. 3) I only read the novel once and I still remember all the experiences I had. The novel is beautifully and brilliantly written so much so that I donāt have any issues or questions at all (whether logically/fantasy/etc)
Remember this again. We are all experiencing Jomās monologue. So, his every experience for the first time is same for us too (like time traveling each century backward and him getting confused). Also, due to the paradox, 19th and 20th centuries being already passed means Jom had already been there
The story becomes complex/confusing if asked to explain in a linear way. But if you ask me whether I understood everythingā¦Oh yeah, I remember everything by feelings of memories (through Jom š„¹) Cuz feelings cannot be explained or described in words right? š
[It is really hard to explain the story; it is really really hard to adapt the story into a visual-media form; and it is simply the hardest to make it in live-action with true notion of the novel captured]
Feel free to ask anything but I really hope you read the novel as first experience
I need a favour I occasionally remember this specific scene from a Japanese BL series/movie (most probably itās a series) I do not recall where it is from. It apparently happens in the latter half of the story (more like nearing its end)
The moms of two boys (who were childhood friends since) meet each other at a river bed; they later talk about their sonsā romantic relationship and happily conclude the conversation as they know each other very well. Then after that, the scene jumps to some snowfall I guess.
Do you know any Japanese BLs where the moms (who were also BFFs themselves?) mutually bless about their sons relationship ?
Thanks to my fuzzy memory and adrenaline backed curiosity, I wonāt stop this mystery until I get the answer š
Bored to tears. 90% of this is watching Jom stand there stuttering or with his mouth hanging open. I feel like…
Have you read the novel? It is one of the most beautiful piece of work I have ever read in my life. It was like poetry providing amazing imaginative reading experience!
The entire novel is narrated through Jom's point-of-view (including his meticulous thoughts for us to read) which contains more of his mindvoice than actual dialogues. So, that is the reason why you may felt like his silent acting was limited to a certain extent when compared to the unlimited literary wordplays in the novel. Those narrative mindvoices cannot be told in series which will only make it wierd, so they (the team) focused more into the acting environment.
I'm on ep 3 and Jom is so exasperating. It takes him MINUTES to answer questions, and he often stands there like…

I'm sorry...but is Jom supposed to be likable? He's so incredibly clueless I'm having a hard time not rolling…

Can anyone tell me who save jom in the water?? We know it's Khun Yai with mustache but how and when? And suddenly…
Ok, SPOILER WARNING!! Sorry if my explanation is a bit confusing cuz the story is amazingly written in a labyrinth way.
The novel is nothing but a masterpiece of literary wordplays narrated through Jom's pov. The story in the novel actually divides into two periods. First half is the 20th century which the series got adapted into. The second half of the novel is when Jom travels further back to 19th century and there he meets the GeneralYai (the moustache one).
The bond formed between Jom and GeneralYai in the 19th century is what made KhunYai (20th century) felt (fatefully) attracted to Jom when he first arrived from the present.
CAUSE:- Jom's confused pov is the novel narrating to us: [Present -> 20th century -> 19th century -> Present again] EFFECT:- Yai's mystic pov is how he was influenced by and treating Jom in his respective times: [19th century(curious first meet) -> 20th century(searchingforsoulmate ah meet) -> Present(Iremembereverything ah meet) (novel+series ending where they meet)]
The present Yai at the series ending is supposed to be a relative from KhunYai's brother's lineage.
The series actually ended in a limbo of sorts whether to continue the second half of the novel, considering the production limitations (It would be hard to adapt such thai historical settings if they decide to proceed).
There were many details left out in the series. The plumeria tree meet at Yai's house (in the 20th) was a very symbolical to their meeting from the 19th. The ring, the knife, etc are all imminent.
I forgot more intricate details but I still vividly remember the feelings!
