Yeah it's actually more normal that you think in most countries. Here in the UK you got prisoners wearing designer, smoking in there, flat screen TV, mobile phones, cooking equipment in the cell etc. It's pretty crazy.
If you knew all of that why'd you say it was illogical? There aren't supposed to be explanations here, at least not yet. It was never that kind of story.

The cult leader made up that lie, because if he didn't and this was brought to light the entire world would go into panic as anyone could be killed by "god" (we don't know if it's god or not) randomly.

Not wrong, however I'd argue signal was pretty standard. Carried by the acting and interesting concept. Though I guess that could be because all of the cases are boring to me now that I've seen them over 5 times in different movies or shows.
Honestly looking back over a year after watching, I was quite underwhelmed. However, Do Kyung Soo's performance was spectacular. He was the best part of the show. If you told me he was an idol I would've laughed and denied it, dude's a natural actor.
