I'm up to Episode 22 and even with the production and subtitle failings, I am loving it. I'm up to Episode 3 of Reply 1997. It's cute, but too early to say.
With the storm, the only streaming site I could access was Netflix. So I randomly picked a Korean movie called Secret Love. It was a perfect 10 until the ending which was a 4. Still, I may rewatch it because the passionate love was unbelievable. It starts out with a wedding where the grooms ring doesn't fit, a portent of things to come. Shortly thereafter, he is in a car accident and in a coma. His dedicated wife goes to the hospital every day to care for him and she falls apart somewhat physically and mentally believing her husband is dying. Enter her husband's identical brother who visits and starts helping the sister-in-law. Of course the two fall in love and start a passionate romance thinking the husband is dying until they get a call that he is out of the coma. So the story begins and I'll leave you with that in case you do watch it.
Thanks for the Heavenly Forest recommendation. I will watch it. one more question, do you know where to see the T drama Secret Garden? It sounds good and a different story from the K drama.

Hi, KimCat! My fav is also Autumn's Concerto. Why Why Love and Coffee Prince are on my list to watch. Mike Hee is amazing! How come you rate everything 9 or 10? Isn't there anything you don't like. One more question, why have you not seen Secret Garden?

Hi, Alex. Yes, Hyun Bin is an exceptional actor. I've watched alot of his acting. My fav, of course, is Secret Garden. I really loved The Snow Queen, but you have to like melodrama, which I sometimes do. It seems very realistic and the love story is so beautiful.
I'm just startng The Princess" Man but have been having trouble streaming it. So I watched the Korean movie Classic. Several people recommended it as their favorite Korean movie. Oh! It is so good and so unforgettable! It's a story within a story. It starts with a young woman who has been writing love letters for a girlfriend to an admired fellow student. One day the young woman finds her mother's old love letters from her first love...
Coffee Prince is on my list, but I kept procrastinating because I dislike gender benders.

Thanks, I will put Say Hello for Me on my list. I haven't seen any J movies, but I few J Dramas. I liked Ice World mostly because of Takenouchi Yataka. It's an older romance mystery.
I loved A Moment to Remember. It reminded me of More than Blue, both tearjerkers, up there with Classic, which I rated a 10.
I'm halfway through At the Dolphin Bay and loved it. Little Cap just found out who Dada is. Ambrose Hsu is amazing! I want to watch Lavender because he's in it, too. What happened to him? He hasn't acted since 2006.
I'm finishing up Phoenix which I really like because it's so different, sort of a revenge drama: 2 guys in love with the same woman, one of them is an ex wife. Included in the story is a murder. What keeps me glued is the crazy ex fiance who won't give up her love. She keeps doing the most outrageous things I've ever seen. He ex fiance brought a psychiatrist to meet her and she said, "she's crazier than I thought." There aren't alot of revenge dramas - Sorry I Love You and A Love to Kill (with Rain). Both are great romances, just don't watch the endings.
I haven't heard of Alice In Wondercity. Let me know how it is.

Good Drama is the only place I can get movies and T dramas. I have on my list to watch: Skip Beat, Save the Last Dance, Drunken to Love You, I Came in Search of a Flower, and Drunken to Love You. Do you have any romantic movies to recommend since I like your taste.
Drama Fever is where I watch K dramas, commercial free and HD. I'm finishing up Phoenix and just started The Princess' Man. Do you have any K drama recommendations? I hate gender benders and don't think I'd like Coffee Prince. What is Reply 1997 like?
Thanks!
Patty

When I saw the movie Classic on your fav list, I decided to watch it. Thanks! I loved it and cried a bucket! It stars Cho Seung Woo who was also in Chunhyang. Someone recommended Chunhyang which you would like. It's different, sort of poetic, and the narrative is sung. It is very romantic, an old folk tale about the loyalty of a woman to her man.
Whenever I see something heart rending like Classic, I have to get it out of my mind by watching something upbeat. I'm about halfway through At the Dolphin Bay and it is magical. The music is mesmerizing and there is quite a variety. However, the production level is pretty bad, so the music comes in very loud suddenly and there is no fade out which is rather comical. It doesn't bother me, it's just kind of funny. Also, when Angela sings accompanied by the piano or solo, the sound is a polished production piece, so it seems corny to watch her lipsink. At any rate, even though some scenes come off as corny, the cast is so adorable. Ambrose Hsu has the Mike Hee good looks and sweet charisma. Why did he stop acting in 2006? Wallace Huo is also wonderful. The biggest problem is the horrible translation. There are no complete sentences, just a mix up of words which I have to interpret. I have not found it on other sites. But I do like it alot. Thanks!

For some reason my last message to you did not come trough. Thank you so much for the list of movies. I saw Chunhyang at least 10 years ago and loved it. But since it was on your list, I just rewatched it and loved it even more. A 10+ It is reminiscent of some of the old Chinese movies which incorporated theater and opera. I love that the story is sung. Maybe the audience would not appreciate that sort of presentation. But it's more like a good poem, few words, but lots of meaning. It is a timeless movie. My only complaint is that it ended too soon! The same actor is in Classic which was recommended to me as their favorite romance movie. But whatever happened to the actress in Chunhyang? She was so beautiful! Was she blacklisted?
Does Adblocker prevent commercials on Good Drama?
Have you started Ice World? Takenouchi Yataka is awesome! The ending is juvenile, but regardless, I still like it.
Also, how is The Princess Man? I am going to start that one as I finished Beautiful Days with Lee Byung Hun. He looks so handsome with his hair long and frosted. He plays a very romantic role and looks gorgeous as a groom. Unfortunately, Choi Ji Woo is so wooden here. She talks very S-L-O-W-L-Y. The story was decent, but the last quarter turned into a weepy melodrama and ground to a halt.
I'm really digging Phoenix. I'm 2/3rds through and it is very unique. There are alot of outrageous things that happen. I can't think of anything it resembles, maybe alittle of Que Sera, Sera and Midas. Although I haven't seen Padam, Padam, the story sounds similar. I love the business/love rivalry between Lee Seo Jin and Eric Mun. There's also a murder, beautiful ex wife, and obsessed fiance who will do anything, ANYTHING to keep her man.

Phoenix is good if you'd like to see Lee Seo Jin and Eric Mun spurring over a woman. There are 2 love triangles, a beautiful ex, a conniving female, and a bit of revenge going on. These are the ingredients I enjoy. I'll let you know how it goes.
It seems that a lot of the K dramas are sexually sterile. Is it because it's made for tv? I particularly dislike androgynous women and gender benders. A lot of the dramas are rom coms (You're Beautiful)and tend to cater to the younger crowd.
I'm also watching Beautiful Days to see some more of Lee Byung Hun. He is so easy to look at, forget the show. Ha! It's an older romance with Choi Ji Woo. She is a true robot here, even with Lee Byung trying his best with open mouth kisses and taking her to a motel.
You really must watch him in the first 3 episodes of Iris. Wow! But don't watch it on Good Drama because they cut out the scene where Kim Tae Hee is ripping off his shirt in bed. Then switch over to the movie if you don't like James Bond shows. Lee does his own stunts and he's just amazing like in I Saw the Devil.
And be sure to watch him in the movie Masquerade, one of the best.
Do you know of any good romance movies?

I saw that you were new to drama and highly recommend Autumn's Concerto, the highest rated T drama. It's an unforgettable romance. Most of the Taiwanese dramas you have to watch on good drama which means when you click on the next part (about every 20 minutes) you have to watch a commercial. About a third of the way through Autumn's Concerto, you will meet an adorable little boy on the playground calling to his "space daddy" on a radio. You will fall in love with this little matchmaker and the handsome man who doesn't know it's his son. I'm not spoiling anything to tell you that it is a happy, heartwarming drama because at the end of every episode you will see a couple with the little boy squirting them with a hose.
Mars and Fated to Love You are also great T dramas.
Do not waste your time if you get 2-3 episodes into a drama and you are not loving it. People either love or hate the lead couples and the storylines. For me, there are certain Korean actresses that I dislike and it ruins the drama for me. I'm a nurse and see average looking people all day at work. I want to watch attractive people in a romance when I'm being entertained. T dramas are not as sexually sterile as K drama. But I agree, Secret Garden is my fav. Hyun Bin owned it!

Yes, Fated to Love You was also one of my favs. In fact, I watched it twice in a row! Thanks. I put Skip Beat and Love at Dolphin Bay on my list. I always watch about 3 dramas at a time or I get bored. But, in the unusual event that I find something I really love, like Full House, I will rewatch it again.
Yes, I love Raine Yang and Mike He together. They are both gorgeous! I didn't realize that Rainie sang the song in Devil Beside You. What was Why, Why Love like?
Oddly enough I do like melodrama that I cry over. But I hate the sad feeling that remains when it's over. A Love to Kill gives you that feeling unfortunately. But Rain is stupendous in that show. He plays a boxer and let me tell you, he is very attractive in the ring!
You would definitely love Autumn's Concerto. It is the most uplifting drama I've seen. Whenever I get bummed out, I rewatch it. It's not a spoiler to say that it has a happy ending. At the end of every episode you see a happy couple with a little boy squirting them with a hose. That cute little kid is one of the best actors I've seen. He enters the drama about halfway through sitting on a playground where he's calling his "space daddy" through his radio. The show is utterly romantic and enchanting with the little boy playing matchmaker. He will win your heart also.
What did you like about At dolphin Bay? I do like the older dramas. But I hate watching on gooddrama with all the commercials.

Hi, I was reading the reviews for Full House and wondered if anyone felt the same way I did. Seems like people either love or hate it. I generally dislike Korean rom com, but found Full House both hilarious and heart wrenching. After seeing Rain in A Love to Kill I became a fan and felt his coldness, love, and pain in Full House, as well. Song was just so cute with Rain. I even got past the disappointment that there were no great kissing scenes. It didn't even matter, they were so lovable together. Even the repetition didn't bother me, I didn't want it to end.
I copied your fav dramas to watch that I haven't seen. I'm also a big fan of T drama. You should watch Autumn's Concerto, the highest rated t drama. The second half is amazing. Devil Beside You reminds me of Meteor Garden and Why Why Love.

Thanks for your review and recommendation of Lovers. I really loved it and, as a result became a Lee Seo Jin fan. I'm halfway through Phoenix, another unappreciated gem starring Lee Seo Jin. I want to reserve judgment as I am only halfway through, but from the startup it is a hot, passionate romance. By the end of episode 1 you will be hooked. Like Lovers it deals with adult themes: the reality of marriage and a baby. Then the complications begin. I won't spoil anything except that Eric Mun is the second lead. There are a lot of really uncomfortable situations with longing and sexual tension as in Lovers.
The lead couple in Lovers is what really worked for me. It's no wonder there was great chemistry as the couple was dating in real life. The gangster storyline was fast paced, no silly filler side stories with cartoonish characters. The grand finale, last 2 episodes were perfect: lots of action and realistic ending. Mobsters, even those "going good" have to suffer the consequences of past crimes. There also had to be some atonement for what happened to Yu Jin who was a sympathetic character.
If I have any criticisms that would be the character Sae Yeon. I found him neither attractive nor charismatic with the women in his life. I found no chemistry at all with he and the women he dated. So the breakup scene with Mi Joo seemed ridiculous. It also didn't leave any angst as a love triangle.
Regardless, Lovers is a great drama. A better title would have been Gangster Lover. I loved Kang Jae stone face gangster look!

Lovers is on drama fever. I pay $9.99 a month to watch HD commercial free. You can get most everything on good drama for free, but you have to watch a commercial every 15 minutes when you reset to the next part.

It's simply called Lovers - Korean/2006/20 episodes. I think the name is a turnoff because it implies another silly love drama when it is more a gangster suspense romance. Look at MrsLeeSeoJin"s site for the Calvin Klein photo of the gangster in the show and you will want to rip off his clothes. Ha!

I'm halfway through Lovers and am as addicted to it as Secret Garden. It has the suspense of Midas, dark side of That Winter the Wind Blows, intense love of Secret Garden. Read MrsLeeSeoJin's review on Lovers and you will want to watch it too. It's about a mob family that wants to go good, not a comedy or silly.

I'm up to Episode 11. I could run through the whole drama in one night, but I have to limit my addiction or my husband will get angry. We run a medical clinic together and drama is a good stress reliever. My husband will only watch movies. He finds the dramas too juvenile, especially the ones with amnesia themes. He did, however, enjoy Midas.
I just love, love, love Episode 10 of Lovers when Kang Jae tells Mi Joo that it's his last day as a bad guy and then has to restrain himself from her. Wow! Really powerful! I love how the two hold their emotions in, but it's all boiling on the surface. Mi Joo is my favorite kind of female, she doesn't take crap from guys. And Kang Jae is a tough guy with a soft heart that you just adore him.
Your site above is a riot! You should be a writer! Yes, I also hate the wide open eye, closed mouth kisses. What's with that? Is it supposed to be cute, funny, or safe sex? It is a big turn off.
If you can ever get your hands on the Belgian movie, The Music Teacher (1988) you would love it. (I got it through the library.) It's about a retired opera singer who trains 2 singers to compete against his old opera rival. Of course the female pupil falls for the teacher and the male pupil for the female. The music is sensational, as well as the music competition. Add that to the romance and you have the perfect movie. It's a classic that never grow old. It's a bit of a melodrama, but the lyrics are haunting.

I am halfway through Lovers and totally agree with you, it is wonderful, exciting, sexy, addicting. The name probably deters people from watching it thinking it's just another corny romance. Thanks for your review. It made me watch it.
