Tbh if you had worded it like "if they did this jut for the controversy then that disgusting" I would have agreed with you that's truly wrong playing with peoples feeling. That's an opinion with open ended thoughts of uncertainty not a proven fact.

And truly I hope they didn't do it for the controversy that's what i'm choosing to believe. And I truly hope that they didn't distort history but if they did then yes we have to respect the feelings of SK Netizens and stay out of it and let them decide how they feel about it. They are daring those people who are complaining to watch because people are making baseless opinions on the storyline without any proof. That doesn't mean that was their intention they didn't go around asking people to complain about the show. And what do you mean I'm making a whole big thing about historic distortion angle?? that's what the whole controversy is based on. And in the eyes of South Koreans who have had to experience that even or younger generation whose families had to go through that event would definitely not support the actors/writers/and channel who chooses to be part of a show that has caused them such pain. And it isn't written to compare issues like that because each individual might deal with the same problem in many ways. WDYM it might not be a big deal for you but there are people who have committed suicide due to bullying. You can't talk on behalf of other people about what they were going through the moment the issue was happening. It's not about what big deal or not.

Ok, what you feel versus how the reality is are two different things. You never know what the writer was actually thinking. for example. Like a writer wants to write a love story that takes place in a time period with zero technology so they chose the 1800's in the USA that means they have to be aware of what was happening in that time period like slavery. or another writer might wanna write a love story in the 1900s in the USA then they have to be aware of segregation and Racism. My point is you never know what the writer is thinking while creating a story so to accuse the writer of writing a story just for the controversy is just false.

IDK if you have watched the show Lovecraft Country (it's a fantastic show) it's a fictional show with magic and all but it's set in the time period of 1950s USA. At the core, it's a show about love and family. But it doesn't ignore the racism and the events that took place during that time period. Maybe this writer wanted to write a fictional story between two individuals during that time period and included the events that happened during that time period because if they hadn't included then people could cause another controversy saying why is the writer ignoring what happened in that time period? how could they ignore their own history? how could they write a story that takes place in that time period but not care about the horrible things that were going around that time period??. It's something we will never know so saying things such as they did it for the controversy is just accusing them for no reason at all and that's not right.

yes the organization does exist but that doesn't mean it is how it is Portrayed in the show. like this is just an example and not parallel, there are so many shows that portray CIA in a fictional story in some shows there are good agents and in some there are horrible agents but it is still a real organization portrayed in a fictional work and people with brain know that what is portrayed in that particular show is no way correlated to the actual CIA agency.

I would get what you are saying if they had portrayed a horrible organization that did horrible things to people as a good organization but that's not what's shown in the show is it?? Like that organization isn't glorified in the show so far (idk about the future episodes..) so why is that a problem.

Lol, have you seen how Kpop works? There were so many idols whose careers were ruined because of one bad thing they have done in the past. And no I wouldn't look forward to an author's work if they had done such thing as distorting history just for controversy.
I still remember how Soojin had to leave the group because of her past behavior (bullying allegation) before she was an idol. Like She was cut from her future work.

Hold up my friend, Petition to stop concentration sign vs fictional work are two different things let's not compare those two things. The controversy is that it's distorting SOUTH KOREA'S history using fictional work. It's a tv show with actors and directors and a production team which means International people who have no idea about Korea's history could have signed the petition based on their hatred for the cast and the crew members which isn't fair.

Petition to stop China's Concentration Camp is not a fictional tv show which consists of characters. It is not a form of production or storytelling. It's a real thing that is inhumane and shouldn't happen.

Same with history's distortion, it isn't a light topic where outsiders can weigh in because we can't tell South Korean netizens how they should feel about the situation. so what @Gray Tea is saying is that people who don't care or know about South Korea's history but hate the cast/crew could sign the petition which sadly happens. I mean there are so many toxic Kpop stans who would sign the petition based on their hatred for Jisoo or BP. Or those people who just sign because of rumors and hatred for cast/crew.

You shouldn't be comparing those two together like that. The reason why people could sign the petition to stop China Concentration Camp is that it wasn't about the history of a country, it was because of the inhumane treatment that people are going through right now.

I get that South Korean people were treated inhumanely back then and there are still survivors who went through hell during that time period but we International fans who only know about the history and haven't gone through what they went through shouldn’t be telling them how should or shouldn't feel about a show which involves their history.

But I don't believe it Because the director and writer were already known for creating hit show "Sky castle". one of the reasons people were looking forward to it. The actors have huge fanbase in itself, not to mention all the blinks who are waiting for Jisoo's debut. Personally i'm looking forward to Yoo in Na because se I Love her other works like goblin, touch your heart, and my love from the star. also love JIsoo and Hae in together. So that in itself is publicity and the writers have been writing this drama for long-time.

No way Such great actors would sign to do a show that distorts their own history just to risk getting hate from K-Netizens and ruin their outstanding career. They wouldn't join that show if they know it would be so controversial. Also I don't think YG would let Jisoo and Yoo in Na sign on to the show if they were aware that such controversy would arise and risk their careers. Like if jisoo's career is ruined then BlackPink would also have been partially affected as well so Why would YG let Jisoo be part of the show that could risk one of the biggest girl group in the World. like that doesn't make sense.
