Ikr...pork, alcohol... clothes, making out before marriage and finally, LGBTQ+ and their existence. Also, the…
?? This is a poor and ignorant argument. Intoxication, LGBTQ+ relationships, inappropriate dress codes and many other things are also advised against in the other main religions and yet y’all still watch anyway as many people don’t practice every single thing in the books line by line. If you are going to argue that everything is haram, then it’s not fair to only apply the rules of what’s moral or not to Muslims but excuse it for everyone else. People’s complaints are not any less valid and it’s possible for something to have haram parts but still be wrong and insulting in its portrayal. They’re not mutually exclusive
That sounds fair but iQiyi, WeTV and a bunch of other places are still using the purple one. in any case whoever is on a roll with changing all of these cdrama posters should stop lol
Am I the only one thinking Fandy Fan (Taiwan) and Kwak Dong Yeon (Korean) look so much alike?Could have been twin…
Yess!! I know this comment is super old, but i’m watching more than blue rn and came to this page to see if anyone else felt the same way because I couldn’t stop thinking about the resemblance
Could someone let me know what the controversies around this drama are? I remember constantly reading to avoid it when it first came out, but now I'm getting interested in it and I can't remember what my reason was back then. I know about the supporting actor and that the source material is BL, but is there more to the story or that's it?
I’ve been trying to figure out how to put my thoughts into words and what exactly was bothering me and you’ve nailed it. There were parts that didn’t resonate when I felt like they were supposed to. There were some conversations that barely scratched the surface even when the events around them and their feelings about things were actually really serious and worth diving into on a deeper level. I loved the overall story and the way they grew apart and came back together, so I’m a bit sad the rest of it didn’t work for me
very well explained disappearance element. i couldn't agree more. 👏https://x.com/KSZYjnMF2Jf7Ir5/status/1875332406540222874?t=Hcm6g4iq3p6fNGTxlb9rPQ&s=19
This makes sense, thanks for sharing! was kind of hoping they wouldn't go down this route but I don't know what else I expected
Got as far as episode 32. I have to say the acting and story isn't bad, however it's just too dragged out with…
I just finished and totally agree! They went way too hard in trying to make it melodramatic in some scenes that it completely took me out of the story. I could suddenly feel that I was watching people acting instead of being invested in the characters like I was before.
The minimal romance doesn't really bother me. I am only annoyed by it because I got the impression going into this that it was heavier on the romance, when in reality it ended up being like 95% revenge/drama and 5% romance.
This drama isn't made for everyone. Most of the characters are flawed and almost unlikeable for the majority of…
The characters being flawed/unlikeable and the subtlety of the romance doesn’t bother me at all, so that’s a misinterpretation of what I said about my problems w the drama. The issue for me is that their personalities and conversations feel half-finished so it’s difficult to connect to them. I don’t judge on what type of characters or storylines I watch as long as they’re well executed, but my personal opinion is that here it’s not. They’re depending too much on the uniqueness of the premise that it’s like they forgot to give the characters even the slightest bit of depth. I will agree though that the creative direction and color grading are stunning, and they give it a very cinema-like quality!
I'm 4 episodes in and I am struggling with the same thing. The premise is really interesting but WORD on the progression,…
Yess I agree!! The story is unique but that’s pretty much where my interest ends. It feels too much like they’re just “acting”, but it has nothing to do with the cast and their talent or ability. The writing and direction itself is awkward that things don’t flow properly imo
I want to love this as much as everyone else but the dialogue and progression of their relationships feels so unnatural :( Nobody in this drama feels like a real person/character except the daughter and sister. I felt this way at the beginning and thought it would change as more happened but at ep 8 now and it’s the same, like something in the script just feels off. I’m trying to figure out what has everyone so hooked
I’m so mad at myself for just now watching this. I’ve never cried SO much during a movie. Obviously the topic is nothing new but the execution is incredible in every way possible and the portrayal of emotions is so comforting and realistic. If anyone else is reading these comments like I was trying to figure out if you should watch this, please do!!!!
This is such a great review so thank you! It’s nice to see detailed criticism among all the 10s, but I also feel like this drama is so fun and enjoyable that it’s easy to be forgiving of all the flaws and just go with it.
I agree with almost all of your points except that the drama should be shorter. I think they needed 16 episodes, but they definitely used some of that screen time in the wrong ways. With that many timelines, they could have used each one as an opportunity to flesh out the characters’ personalities more so they have better development across the timelines, but instead we got filler. I don’t think the answer is cutting out the filler and shortening the drama, but replacing it with things that are more meaningful to the overall plot because it needs it. But hey it is what it is I guess haha
Does anyone know what song was playing during the mask scene in ep. 23? or has it not been released? I can't find it on any of the official OSTs that they've put out so far
The minimal romance doesn't really bother me. I am only annoyed by it because I got the impression going into this that it was heavier on the romance, when in reality it ended up being like 95% revenge/drama and 5% romance.
