He never had any encounters with any other supernatural being or knows anything about the afterlife. Goblin and grim reaper were among the supernatural beings for centuries and still they didn't know about each other.
There is clearly a long time period between her first killing attempt and her killing him. A lot of things happened between them and she was his wife. He knows she loved him. He knows it wasn't just to take revenge. By then he knew her more to think it was simply for revenge and that's why now that he knows young hwa is remembering everything he wants answers. Before that he thought he was still he will be free if he kills the one who he is bound to for so many years.

You are speaking as if he was some mad lunatic who went around killing people just like that. He was an army general to a kingdom. If he don't kill then the other side would kill him and his people. He killed people on the war field to protect his people. People who he killed would have killed him if he don't kill them. He aimed at Rita's father and her family so that he don't have to kill more people and end the war as soon as possible with as much less casualties as possible. If he is cursed for doing his duty as an army general then every other army general including the fl's father would be roaming around the earth as a ghost without getting salvation. That's not true. The actors does have a say in how their characters act or dress. They can improvise and change little things here and there. A lot of actors adlib a lot in dramas and brung their own flavour to the character.

Also he didn't kill her family for personal revenge or anything. It was 1500yrs ago and at that time it was a common practice to kill the ruler and his importance people and everyone associated with them. Rita's father was also a general and if he won the war he would have killed doha and the ruler of Silla the same way.
This one clearly is more on the serious dark side than a rom-com so obviously the overall vibe will be gloomy.

That depends on how long she was with him and what his health condition was. If she is still a virgin it will look forced since she liked her husband and was married to him. I think she got married 7-8 yrs ago and her husband dies just 2-3 yrs ago. She has been doing the match making for 2yrs only. So I highly doubt they didn't do the deed for 3-4 yrs of marriage. That will be way too exaggerated. She simply looks like someone who lives in a la la land and thinks everything is rainbows and unicorns. Since her in laws as good to her till now she thinks they are good people in general and rubbishes her mother in law killing the older sister in law rumours.
