I get why ppl would be annoyed at LRE’s bolder makeup. I think what mostly bothers me about it is how pale her…
I wrote about this in comment section once, there were metaphores and interpretations for this thing Rael was doing, when it came to her makeup and clothes. Her sharpest weapon for her scheme is her body and sexuality, the way she charms and walks around. Her clothes indicate her being in center of attention, they protect her in a way, that was also mentioned in her previous drama 'It's okay not to be okay' and attention being drawn to her eyes, instead of her lips, I'm assuming. The eyes tell more sometimes than your mouth can. And since Rael is introduced as a femme fatale: tvN described her as Aphrodit who is a vengeful goddess of beauty, the biblical Eve as a temptress, seductress, a serpent (that are mostly seen as green). Hence why we, methaphorically, see the color green on Rael most of the time, whether it being a dress or the eyeshadow. The green color symbolizes many things. Greed, envy, etc. Serpent being mentioned because she was gifted a serpent by Yoon Gyeom and in patriarchal worldview it is a symbol of temptation, evil responsible for the downfall of a male. Serpents symbolize more than temptation and evil. They can shed their skin and as such are symbols of fertility, rebirth and healing like the caduceus. The caduceus is the traditional symbol of Hermes and features two snakes winding around an often winged staff.
Noticed that some people were talking about the FL's wardrobe and makeup getting bolder and 'weirder' and her…
I've also noticed the contrast between Ra El's and Han So Ra's wardrobe. Especially when they wear black(So Ra) and white (Ra El) accordingly. It reminds me of yin and yang. In Chinese philosophy and religion there are two principles- One negative, dark, and feminine (yin), and one positive, bright, and masculine (yang). --It is a concept that describes how obviously opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary or interdependent in their world, and how they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another.
Hey so I've been watching this drama and I have some confusion over the plot:- who is the singer mentioned by…
-I'm assuming the singer was just another female character that was failed because his family suspected he had something with her so they got rid of her. Interestingly enough, most damage that happens in this drama is towards female victims, as I've noticed. You can sense that in a patriarchal society, the world isn't generous enough to women. Small girls, daughters and even the female guard gets hurt. -Sunbin's tattoo is actually still there, she uses makeup to hide it incase someone sees it. I'm assuming it's something sacred to her due to the fact it's hiding her scars that she's still trying to heal. -Yes, Boram is just a stepdaughter to Sunbin but I think the husband wanted his girl to not be without a mother so that's why he just wanted to introduce them as a mother and daughter duo. I'm sure being without a mother in that type of a high society would take a toll on her. The husband also sees Sunbin as a way to increase his social standing. -I think it's because she is consumed by revenge fantasies so she barely has any control. Her main weapon is So Ra because she is married to the CEO of LY Group. So Ra's father was also in the moment when Sunbin's father was killed I believe, along with that secretary of his hence why she always starts shaking anytime she sees him. Read on twitter that Sora is more of a foil to Rael than she would like. Since both of them have been failed by society, because of patriarchal values of oppression and greed- which turns them into these 'monsters' they've been hiding for a while. -La Boca was a tango club that Yoon Kyeom visited Sunbin at, where they talked about the story of Piazzolla Bandoneoun. She phoned a contact in her phone 'Maria' and spoke in Spanish- she confirmed that there’s another Korean who knows about this story. Maria was the one that rented place for Sunbin when she lived there. Pretty sure that's where Sunbin first bumped into the ML. ------FUN FACT: Seo Ye Ji went to Spain alone and spent her college years there. And all she took was 3 years to speak Spanish almost as well as a native.
Noticed that some people were talking about the FL's wardrobe and makeup getting bolder and 'weirder' and her actions- just wanted to add onto this after reading some things about this whole thing; --Rael is introduced as a femme fatale: Aphrodite as a vengeful goddess of beauty, the biblical Eve as a temptress, seductress, a serpent (that are mostly seen as green). Hence why we, methaphorically, see the color green on RaEl most of the time, whether it being a dress or the eyeshadow. The green color symbolizes many things. Greed, envy, etc. --Rael is gifted two contrasting symbols of femininity by two men. One is a serpent by Yoon Gyeom - in patriarchal worldview a symbol of temptation, evil responsible for the downfall of a male. The other is a matryoshka doll by Eun Pyung- a symbol of motherhood, family and divine feminine. --Serpents symbolize more than temptation and evil. They can shed their skin and as such are symbols of fertility, rebirth and healing like the caduceus. And Aphrodite was more than vindictive, a goddess of love and fertility connecting with the fact and meaning of her name;Rael has always belonged to the deity. -We also get to see Ra El eating with Yoon Gyeom but she almost never eats at the table with him because he always wanted a wife that makes him feel whole, feeding him food, meanwhile when she is with Eun Pyeung we get to see her sit at the table and eat with him. We all saw Ra El's history of anorexia and other illnesses. Eun Pyeung is the only one who recognizes her condition and cares for her. can someone spoil me how the romance is progressing in this drama?
it's one of those dramas where they don't even notice that they're falling for eachother until they actually focus and realise it, so far no first kiss yet due to the stalker plot and stuff, but the chemistry between them is very good imo and they're extremely fluffy and cute when together
ohhh how I wish a painful death on himand his lackey that killed La El's father.I would feel sorry for the child…
Yeah, I agree with you. So Ra is definitely a grown woman now but the actress plays the character so well, I'm obsessed! "Vincenzo" had extremely satisfying deaths for all villains in the drama, if it turns out to be like that, it's gonna go really good lol
