i haven't seen What Happens to My Family.
Kahoko is sheltered and mother-obeying just like how you described Hyo Jin. i don't know Hyo Jin, but i think the difference is that Kahoko is not really spineless. it's just that she was not exposed to the outside world that much. actually the drama is about that.. exposing Kahoko little by little to the world. and it's weird that Kahoko is not annoying (for me).

re What Happens to My Family.. i honestly would like to watch it but it's 52 episodes. i'm still watching My Father is Strange (i just stumbled upon it in KBS World and enjoyed it) so i'm not sure. i have a lot on my currently watching :(
