After watching episode 6, seems like you were spot on

I'm referring to the impression it leaves on audience about law and order IRL.

I'll explain it to you in simple terms,
Court room comedy = GOOD
Mockery of court room = NOT GOOD

It's one of those super cheesy dramas that you can't help but rewatch because the leads have such good chemistry

PHJ's character kept switching between 'indifferent, morally ambiguous professional' and 'sweet enough to give you a cavity boyfriend' so frequently and so fast, it gave me a mental whiplash..

I was ecstatic at end of ep 4 thinking LSG is finally the bad guy! Alas.... they ruined it.
Let's hope they make up for it with some better twists

Courtroom comedy is all well and good, but making a mockery out of the courtroom and law is not acceptable...
Episode 7 definitely took it too far

Uhhhhhhh.... to each his own, I guess.
The acting is very good by chinese drama standards tho

tbh, DOTS was quite dramatic and YAMH is relatively more realistic.
But, the direction of DOTS was so much better

Nevertheless, it's a pretty good contemporary Chinese drama.
The FL is smart and knows her stuff.

DOTS could have taken bits and pieces from the novel, who knows?
