Yes capitalism isn't perfect but it's by far the best system we have since before it's adoption 99% of all people were dirt poor farmers who's whole family was one bad harvest away from starvation and people had a horrific life-expectancy of only 25 years old. ML in this drama is a 1000x better than he was in PA where he had a super serious 24/7 cold personality and barely spoke. He was also a cowardly conformist in PA who lived in terror of upsetting his deranged psychotic grandpa and so always chose pleasing his grandpa and the king over doing right by his girl.

And I haven't even mentioned how twisted the relationship between the ML and the FL is considering at the start of the show he is a 30+yr. old slave owner of the 15 yr. old FL which last for at least the first 20 episodes. (He also forces the FL to accept deadly assassin training making her into his own "Super Sexbot Slave Killing Machine" and forces her to risk her life on deadly missions about things that had nothing to do w/ her and only benefited the ML's home country which she is not even from and has captured and enslaved her) This kind of unbalanced power is what makes the H.S. teacher/student relationship so inappropriate yet the hordes of Romance crazy female viewers didn't bat an eye over this horrifying relationship of a 35yr. old male SLAVE Master and his 16yr. old little girl who's his SLAVE. which is like the inappropriate H.S. teacher/student hookup but a million bajillion times worse. The FL is just so messed up from her trauma filled childhood that she thinks Abuse=Love and so she has Stockholm Syndrome for the ML and not real feelings. Probably the most twisted relationship ever produced btw. the two leads in the entire History of Chinese Cinema.

There really isn't anything new or original in Chinese fantasy dramas these days as there all just the story of some super strong ML who's usually like a "Million Years Old TurboVirgin" who never in all that time thought about having sex with a girl until he met his True Love the FL. (Cause isn't that just so romantic? What girl doesn't like a 35 yrs. old TurboVirgins?) So,7 after being over a million years old , he will finally meet the Smoking Hot Babe🔥FL and it will finally occur to this poor bastard that "Wow maybe being an "Immortal Eternal Undying Virgin-For-Life Loser" is not the way to go and people might be on to something with this whole getting laid idea and thus the "Super Duper Mega Millions Years. Old TurboVirgin" will finally finally get some you know what. End of Story.

Uh no it's the complete opposite. How can any woman in their right mind, who's not an Unhinged Teenybopper or something, support a Romance btw. a 16 yr. old SLAVE girl and her 35 yr. old slave master. The SLAVE MASTER ML clearly knows she just wants freedom for herself and sisters, but he forces her to stay and train to be his "Sexbot Killing Machine Super Assassin" by threatening her sisters lives. He then forces her to take on all these secret deadly missions to support the ML' country which she is not even from and has nothing to do with her. Wow what a great guy! All the women here seem to think all the ML's mental and physical abuse of the FL is okay because he eventually gets a thing for her even tho he still won't set her free. For the FL she grew up being forced to fight, which is abuse, so she thinks Love = Abuse and just has Stokholm Syndrome and definitely not real feelings for the ML. I'd love to see the absolute Shitstorm that a U.S. show about a Romance btw a 16yr. old female SLAVE and her 35yr. old SLAVE MASTER wud produce. I'm a guy and I just can't understand why female viewers can watch dramas containing any crime including gruesome torture of characters to tons of brutal murders and their is no problem but if their is even one scene that hints at or implies sexual assault or rape female viewers get Hysterical about how dare they show that. Pretty sure brutally torturing someone and most definitely murdering people are worse crimes than rape in my book. Correct? So why is this?

As a one of the few men who watch these dramas I can assure that the reasons that females find other females "annoying" are incomprehensible to us guys. To me it seems allot of u ladies like to nitpick the FL to the death over a bunch of silly nonsense sometimes to the point of letting it ruin the show for you, while often giving the ML a pass for all kinds of bad behavior. Yall girls really need to stop bitching about mostly nonexistent sexism and focus much more on why it's really other women who are the ones who irrationally hate on and oppress other women the most. Sad but True.

Obviously the female viewers in China disagree since they are the target audience and theses kind of "Slightly Silly" female characters are so prevalent. I think it's mainly because many girls don't date or have sex until much later in life there, and thus retain their "innocence" until they're much older there. Chinese and Korean girls don't all become Supersluts by 15 and have had 10 boyfriends by age 20, so it does make sense that they wud act more immature or slightly silly around a guy they liked. This is a cultural issue so demanding others of different cultures conform to how you believe they should act is highly inappropriate.

And since literally 95% of all critical comments on this site for bad acting are directed at the FL usually, so the fact that this ML gets so many negative comments means his acting must be really really bad.
