I think in the series they are not childhood friends. They're probably cousins. That woman holding the picture is Gene's aunt (remember the one he talked to on the phone?).

First of all, I think Aoey and Mhok really like each other. However, only Aoey came out while Mhok is still in the closet, he's still pretending not to be who he is and that's why Aoey is so mad about him (he also might have been the one who told Aoey's secret to his sister).

As far as the way Sib treats Gene, I think all of this comes from their past history which was hinted in the preview for the next episode. Maybe Sib's always loved Gene or the other way around.

I'm pretty sure Sib is Gene's cousin. Remember that Gene's aunt is spending a little time with his mom? I don't understand how Gene wouldn't remember his cousin, but this is a BL after all... Go figure! But I agree with the part in which the person above says that both of them are still virgins and that kiss was their very first kiss.
We're still on episode 5, there's a long long way ahead for us yet.
