I just started, and while it’s clearly not the best, I think it’s cute. I think I need one like this after some I’ve been watching. I do really appreciate how they put any time skips on screen (3 days later, 1 week later… etc) not many BL’s do that abd it can make the plot confusing

Exactly! In my early days after coming out I dealt with this often. Guys who wanted to be with me but wanted to keep it secret. I get it’s hard fir some people to come out but I’m just like “I’m out, what do you think people are going to think if we’re constantly together.” Loving someone can be hard but it’s better to move on from those. I don’t believe someone is truly ready to fully love you if they can’t stand with you.

This whole Nikita thing is making me mad. It’s so played out. Nikita’s character seems very smart. And if a character like Nikita really knew the both of them as I believe she does she wouldn’t actually try to get with Fi Li Gong because she knows the actual feelings the 2 have for each other. Poor and desperate writing.

Agreed! As I gay man, I can say that I will never be able to actually be sexually attracted to it in love with a woman. If I did I’m lying to myself.
I get the pressure society puts on gay men, but the whole cover up BS is outdated.

I feel the same which is why I try to find 1 off BLs. I’m 5 min into ep 10 and I can already tell what Fu Li Gong talked to Zheng Shou’s dad about. “ I want my son to be with a woman and have a kid” blah blah blah. Like did you not already know this is what he wanted? But you still continued to crush on him abd got with him anyways only to break his heart. As a gay man, when you get with a guy, it’s sort of understood tbat you are going to face prejudices together, but you face them TOGETHER.

What I want to see is a BL that does this crap but the one who got broken up and heart broken glows up and finds a better guy so it can show the other. Like I’d love to see Zheng Shou find another guy and Fu Li Gong has to see and live with it and be crushed that his love found someone better because he’s a damn coward.

I certainly get your point, and the series did focus too much on namning’s psychosis. But I don’t agree with you that it was condoning violence. I think it was shedding some light on mental health. While adults are supposed to know right from wrong, Namning clearly did not because of the brain washing she was subjected to at such a young age. So while she should know true right from wrong, she never actually learned it because of the way her mother used her growing up to get to her father. I believe one of the characters said something like “that’s why she is the way she is” when they noted that neither her mother nor father went with her. So really they got her the help she needed as she was admitted to a psych ward. If anyone should’ve been locked up, it was her mother.
