" ... since they announced vaccine for Covid" What kind of joke is this? Please don't take this vaccine. It will…
this is not the place to be spreading your anti-vax misinformation, please educate yourself and stop spreading this nonsense that can and will put people's health and safety at risk
Pran is such an interesting character and the way Nanon portrays him is incredible - there is this intense vulnerability about him. We still don't know much about Pran's 3 years away at boarding school but from the context clues, I don't think it was a happy time for him....
Despite what he's been through, he is so brave??? he went to that rooftop with an open mind and heart knowing very well that the person waiting for him could be a boy, but he still went. it's kind of crazy because his parents are so close-minded and controlling (who sends their child away for the reason they did? ) Pran's family is SO much worse than Pat's.
Pran - has good friends, but an awful family Pat - has awful friends, but a good family (not that his family is perfect, Pat's Dad is 100% feeding him toxic masculinity bs as well as his friends, it seems like he's surrounded in it and doesn't know who he is without putting on this performance for all of them, I'm so excited to see him discover his true self)
This is how you know this is a good show, because the characters have layers and are more than the typical BL cliches of "one's a hot popular boy and one's a nerdy dork."
The violence is just annoying now. I wish it ends because it's not a pleasant plot device.
this is a romeo and juliet retelling, the fighting is how all of these stories are set up, even the small details like the middle finger at the bar is taken from romeo and juliet (the do you bite your thumb scene)
discovering Smart is the only thing i'll take from this show he's brilliant, such a good actor, he managed to make dumb scenes and lines entirely moving and believable - he has a bright future ahead of him
this show has become so draggy since production stopped due to covid... i loved how it started but ive gotten frustrated with the lack of development i was rooting for the lead couple but the way they've become just makes me exhausted w them
They lifted it from Liar Game... It's Liar Game meets Battle Royale. BTW, both are known in Korea as Korea imported…
Oh that's interesting! I haven't seen /read Liar Game yet, I'll need to check it out - I hope if Squid Game gets season 2 they'll deviate and explain the absence of women thank u sm for your insight ^^
I watched this because I wanted to understand all the memes and discussionsit's a good show, i loved some elements…
i so want to more about the masked workers, with their different ranks, the absence of female workers, the whole "dont speak until spoken to", the young age of that one boy and the way they have to line up outside their rooms every morning to be checked, i think its a clear reference to the Korean Military service
i so wanted to know more about them and where they came from
I watched this because I wanted to understand all the memes and discussions it's a good show, i loved some elements (the games, aesthetics, the police officer etc) and i hated other elements and there definitely was a lot that wasn't explained (where the masked workers come from, why they are there, games in other countries etc) the ending also felt quite lackluster to me
i understand why its popular, its on Netflix so its accessible, the cast and acting are brilliant and for many i think this is their first time watching a korean (or even asian) show, we see many similar themes in other shows, manga, webtoons etc. but for someone who has only ever consumed western media i can see how this show would be mindblowing.
my heart was racing so fast on that last scene i think I'm actually gone

the story will progress away from that soon

i have my binoculars out and there's still no chemistry to be seen
the lack of pob and leon makes me sad, im genuinely just watching for them now
i was rooting for the lead couple but the way they've become just makes me exhausted w them
leon and pob on the other hand.....
thank u sm for your insight ^^
