Nobody asked but… Boys over flowers was my very first interaction with an Asian drama in the summer of 2015…
I understand you with the dislikes you've mention. Gorya is a strong female lead version of this story. I like her very much as a heroine but yes, I do feel off at times because I've always perceived that this character she's portraying as someone who is very caring for her friends and the type who'd just go be with them at all cost in every moment they need her. Inviting her friend was kinda a risky addition the director made which most bof fans/viewers all kinda knew what was bound to happen on that scene. I don't also know why the director/scriptwriter did that but it kinda feels awkward to be on her friend's shoes now. At the same time, I know that Win's character is a playboy indeed but I also feel bad for kaning because I've never thought that this character could be that harsh to kaning. f4 might be high and all mighty but to be selectively helpful in their ways? that's not what i think how F4 is. but it's too soon to say, i believe. maybe the way i'm explaining this is a bit confusing so i'm sorry about that. I guess we'll eventually reach that character development in the future episodes which I'll definitely gonna look forward for sure...soon.
for Hana, i think i was expecting more moment to redeem herself from what she did to Gorya and Thyme. Because though she suffered from her acts, we know she had issues and problems too that caused her to act such things. I think the soymilk left in the locker is a form of her asking Gorya to forgive her wasn't enough, as I wish they didn't leave it just like that with Gorya crying after that. I kinda needed more that would let us not feel very harsh about Hana's actions as she also needed help. I do feel the bullies in this series are way more harsher than anything I've seen...
sorry this got too long as i also want to sharw my thoughts as I have loved all the characters in Hana Yori Dango manga for many years that I really don't want as much possible to go hating the side characters in the story when they're portrayed on a different way in adaptations/ other version of series.
As someone who is a fan of Jdrama and very much loved Hana Yori Dango story, I love how F4 thailand's way of delivery is similar to the manga as it should. The funny, sad, serious and romantic parts of this version does lean much toward the Japanese version as compared to the other versions released through the years. This remake definitely exceeded so many expections and yes, this version is really growing in me.
I just hope the side characters become more memorable along the way too. I know that this version tries as much as possible to follow the manga's plot with a few changes in the side characters presentation to be slightly different to other versions. As we all love getting to see more scenes with the main characters of the story, it'd be really great if the scenes of the other casts gets also more time on screen so we could get to know them better. ^^
Not drama related topic but today is Off 's(Sean) birthday, and he really doesn't look like a 31 year old guy to me. Papang (Gumpa), I'm sorry for thinking you were older than him... T^T
to watch now or to wait. Ugh such a difficult decision
If you feel like it, I think you could join every one of us watching while it airs. The pace might be slow for some but I think it's good enough time to think about or maybe analyze each episodes. There's more depth and information to it the more you rewatch the episodes, if you like to do that. hehe. But if you can wait, then it'll be around March when it ends... so it's up to you, Good luck! ^^
Geez, this comment section is exploding with so much animosity.... If you don't like this drama's take on the…
yes… you said it! I totally relate with you as I also started with bl jdramas/movies years ago… Gosh the struggle with finding dramas back then compared to now… There’s so many bl stories to watch in this current times and as a fan of this type of genre, I guess this is something I’m glad to be alive and witness all of this.^^
I agree with all you said. Each and everyone has their own preferences on what they’d want to watch. It’s okay, we respect that. Hope people don’t go criticising what others like just because others dislike it.
I'm new to offgun..does anyone know who is papii? Who is babii? What's the shippers/fandom of offgun called?
Off is called Papii (Gun gave him the nickname Papii/Puppy from Puppy Honey, that’s their first series as a pair.) Babii is actually the fandom name… Gun is Gun, but often times he is also the baby :D; Off is often called like a Dad or Phi by a number of fans because he’s one of the older artists in gmmtv, and Gun as Baby or Nong because of his height and because Gun is the cutest phi… definitely everybody’s baby. :)
OKAY GUN DROPPED THE BOMB WE’RE GETTING LOVE SCENES/MOMENT THAT CANNOT BE AIRED MAYBE AROUND EP 10 LIKE GOSH I CANNOT WAIT FOR MORE SEANWHITE MOMENTS…T^T PLUS GUN ADMITS THAT SEAN’S CHARACTER TEASES HIM A LOT AND HOW SIMILAR HE IS TO OFF WHEN HE TEASES HIM… I’M GETTING BUTTERFLIES Y’ALL
I love her acting, her facial expression and her words of delivery. The strength of Makino can be seen in Gorya and I love her for that. This girl will go beyond and I see her who will definitely have a promising career. I really believe that. ^^
My favorite version is hana yori dongo 2005 because the character domyouji in the drama is quite funny and likes…
Yes, I agree. Thyme really reminds me too of Domyouji. I have to give a thumbs up especially with his reaction and stutters he makes when he couldn't say the right words... The comical side of Domyouji is visible in Thyme. Bright did a great job on portraying him. Though Matsujun is still the legendary Domyouji we all know, Thyme definitely can be the next Domyouji and I'm really liking this version of him for F4 thailand.
2 episodes in and I'm really liking this remake. Everything about it reminds me of Hana Yori Dango (HYD) 2005 version which is my all time favorite. If you've watched and compared all versions of Boys over Flowers (BOF) , F4 Thailand feels very near to the Japanese drama. The intense moments, the comical parts, the people close to the heroine, the side characters that makes HYD was still incorporated in the Thai version. Though there is still a difference between the remakes to make it more distinct with other versions, this is still a great remake as it follows through the Hana Yori Dango storyline... most especially the Japanese since this is based on a Japanese manga. I have watched all the versions and I'm really impressed with how they did this, the advancement of technology and references since we're already in the year 2021. Plus the actors really did a great job on their roles. Next to Makino Tsukushi (Inoue Mao), I guess Gorya (Tu Tontawan) is now my next favorite heroine. I look forward to the development of this series. ^^
i just noticed that the last episode will air only on the 20th of march 👁👄👁 how am i supposed to wait…
Oh! Have you started watching it or are you planning to binge watch it when it ends by March? Since I’m already watching as it airs, I wouldn’t mind how it’s gonna take that long as it’s something we can look forward to every Sunday… I’ll probably be rewatching every episode again from start up to the latest while waiting every week. I think it will push us to analyze more of the scenes as the story progresses. 😄
The highest rating I saw last time was 8.5 . I am also not sure just how the rating works but I agree they should really give this series a chance because 3 episodes in and it's really worth it to watch this series. The 8.1 is too sus.

Who do you think will fall in love first? White or Sean? :D

To each their own….
