I agree. I think chiaki definitely knows her from before, his little clue during the drinking scene where he says…
Chiaki started acting weird when he saw the Watanuki sign and when he saw Shinobu's husband. I assume there's something wrong with her husband and it seemed like Chiaki knew him (and hated him?). Shinobu also said that her husband cheated on her when she just had their baby. It's getting interesting.
Watching Episode 1 with a better understanding really makes me want to know the story more. There are layers on…
And I really like the acting and the subtle emotions shown in the exaggeration of Shinobu's yells and laughters or the depth of Chiaki's stares or the bright eyes seen in Shinobu when choosing outfit. Argh! I want to know more! I'm completely obsessed! lol. By the way, this is not just another adultery and/or age-gap relationships. This involves attraction, hatred, revenge, and all those complicated feelings/thoughts, done in a very interesting way. But this drama is definitely not for everybody.

So she is cheating on her husband and they call it romance? Always found it wierd how Japanese view infidelity…
I think Japanese never view infidelity as normal. If they do, they wouldn't condemn Higashide for cheating on his wife, Anne. Nevertheless, Japanese are not afraid to address infidelity (or any other taboos) in a drama or a movie. I've watched some infidelity-themed dramas before this. Most don't even have a happy ending for the cheating person. But then why Japanese tend to have many infidelity-themed dramas? I think, maybe, they want to address this issue to married people, as to why/the reasons some people cheat and to be more appreciative towards their partners. Please remember that the Japanese make Japanese dramas targeted to Japanese viewers. As for me, as a viewer from outside of Japan, I can just choose to watch or not to watch the drama. I don't want to judge a drama from other country with my own culture-bound pov.
EPISODE 2:This is no spoiler, I just want to get this straight because I know some people would need to know this…
Here's another one invested in this drama >>> me! xD The problem is that I can only understand a little, but I'm still obsessed with this, lol. Probably because I find the subtle emotions shown in their expressions (both Shinobu and Chiaki's) intriguing.
