As explained above, but the Palace is searching for the adopted son because after Pei’s death, the Emperor’s people found there was barely any money and wealth left in his coffer. Thus, the adopted son must have funneled all the assets out by then already.

She did set his house in fire, but we later found out THAT said fire was extinguishable. However, ML PURPOSEDLY worsened the situation by knocking a candle over to burn his own house down. He has a reason...which I won't spoil. =)

Really! Sigh, I don't know what it is about it, but I couldn't get pass ep 2. Maybe I wasn't starstruck, although I do like the FL. I did see the legit rating, so maybe on my down time, I'll try it again.
