What did I just watch? I was very confused through most of this the plot was all over the place, I appreciate they were swinging for the fences on this but I think they tried to tackle too many heavy topics in such a short time.
Ok not the worst thing I've watched, plot was solid didn't completely go off the rails. Agree though the kissing was awkward. Again not the worst but pretty rough.
I watched this entire series in a 24 hour period, absolutely adored it. Made my top 10, hands down my fav historical drama. So good cannot recommend enough.
Of the 3 Hong sister's drama's I've watched this one is the best (mind you the bar is low) but it doesn't go hard off the rails in the second half like Master's Sun, and it's not a jumbled mess like Hotel del Luna. It had good characters, the story was consistent, enjoyed this one thoroughly.
Finished yesterday, my first watch, and it gave me a lot of 2000's nostalgia. I'm pretty sure my younger self would have loved this. I get the hype around it has a lot to do with the age people watched this at and to be fair it's not as problematic like so many others from that time. Enjoyable, if a little cringey at times, worth a watch.
It's a light watch, I can see the appeal of it. The editing though seemed really janky in the last couple episodes it jumped around a lot I think they must have cut a lot of it. I also had an issue with the ending;
Underrated, yeah ok not an original concept, and if the budget has been a little higher but shout out to a badass FL who was consistent. She didn’t waffle out halfway though, she kicked ass right to the end. Recommend for horror fans.
Almost dropped it but powered through…it was about 5 episodes too long. Painful watching the last few, it had good potential but the side couple was a mess, the story was all over the place, and the FL was not very engaging. Would not recommend unless you’re super board.
That was soft as hell. Just fluff and fuzzy, nice departure from the overly dramatic rom-com watching lately. I would watch So Ji Sub buy groceries though and not complain.
Absolutely hated the side couple, not that they were bad actors but their plotline was terrible, the characters weren't likable. Skipped through most of their nonsene.
Outstanding start to finish, binged through the whole thing in one sitting, haven’t done that since Move to Heaven. Cannot recommend this enough, must watch.
To echo others I absolutely adored this up until episode 12ish, then it started to loose me. I loved the characters, and I loved the ghost hunting sort of stories but then I got bogged down the the over the top angst. Yes I know it's melodrama but would have been more exciting to see them keep doing ghosty things and solving stuff.
I loved the cinematography of this, it has a Wes Anderson vibe; low angles, Dutch tilts and asymmetrical framing even the colour pallet.
Totally get that it's not for everyone but the aesthetic is on point.
Completely agree the chemistry between the leads is fantastic, and it felt so real and natural between them, I honestly would have liked more of them together.
The story isn't too heavy, easy to follow, and the acting is great.
My only real complaint was how they made one of Nana's character traits beating up on Sung Hoon's character. I get why they did it, she was quirky and honestly, I completely identified with her (I too like to stuff food in my face at any given chance) but it's a fine line to walk and a few times I was cringing because it felt genuinely uncomfortable.
That being said I do recommend it for sure, but just be prepared.
This is what a horror series needs to be, short, sharp and nothing lags. Quick paced and didn’t stop for a moment, put it off because of the historical drama aspect but damn this was great. Off to watch season 2.
