Is this supposed to have 40 episodes, right? I feel like they need more episodes to solve the unstructured plot, and it feels like they cut some scenes to fit 29 episodes

Because the hairstyle and attitude are "Jiling coded," Yuan Xizai is a bit messy. So I wonder if they will present this scene later

Finally i have finished watching episode 20-23. So the spoiler that i consumed slowly making sense. This is complicated story, because the actual plot not really show to the viewer, but just the implied scene that might confused them (im glad im not confused at all) but the thing is i just wondering how GJM would make this complex plot to the end, like as i remember Wuyi would severed his tail (not yet) and turning back again to save Jiling? and another spoiler is she enter the "Awu" doll and saw the life of Jiling before replacing the Dragon Deity.
My questiom is when she did this, is that part of the hundred time travel that they show to us on today's episodes or the climax time traveler that help Jiling to be alive or it's another timeline? and there are also a scene in the trailer where Wuyi dissapear? After typing all this questions, my brain canxt function and now i confused againðŸ˜
After watching episode 9, I can have a little guide for the plot. So, Jiling is the young self of Longshen, so that's why when the new puppet Jiling was made, it formed as a fox, because Longshen is originally a fox, and the real Chiwen is not him but Wang Duo's character. So every memory of Jiling is the past memory of Longsheng before he takes the place of the actual position of dragon deity, and he also mentioned some secret. Okay, I got a little understanding of the plot.
Therefore, Jiling and Longshen are the same person, so the pain that is felt by Jiling is the pain that is felt by Longshen but in his past version. Oh my god, I can't wait for further episodes. 😀😀😀😀😀
