I actually disliked the drama but for the FL being a 19 yr old with the ml being almost 30. I just wanted to comment…
The Fl is 20 and the ML is 25 yrs old in the drama! In the west, you are not going to be imprisoned (or sent for reeducation!) if you criticize the country you live in(but your life can be ruined by netizens if you say that the persons who menstruate are called women!)! We have the freedom of speech they do not have in China and other dictatorships! You cannot escape the propaganda but the level is not comparable! China scares me! The USA do not!
There is one thing that completely takes over the events in this drama for me: the all powerful, controlling police pretending to be kind while really oppressive. You can run but you cannot hide in China! Weird! The CCTV surveillance is scary in c dramas but not in korean ones! I must be biased! I want to drop it but I continue, I like the leads! The police and their surveillance equipment plus the propaganda posters on the walls of the police station are freaking scary! I would love to watch this made by another country!
I honestly rlly like the different direction the series took than the webtoon, i like how they did it in the correct…
I am reading the webtoon now but haven't watched the drama yet. The flashback takes about 10 episodes or so...out of over 200 episodes so far. They really never bring SooHo back? That's a huge disappointment ! Anyway, even though I find the webtoon's art so ugly, it shows the ugly personnalities of characters and it is fitting. Bullying and violence and adults who keep their eyes firmly shut at it are all rage inducing and still I don't seem to be able to stop reading....I appreciate your mini review! Thanks! I was not going to watch it but now after reading your comment, I will.
Maybe it is a stupid question since I am new to J dramas but what is a yankee in Japan? It can't be an American, can it? That is the only meaning I know of...it seems not to apply to ML.
I actually liked it more than I thought I would! it is cute & sweet and those manga style exaggerations did not bother me as much as they usually do; Well the episodes are only 20min long so it is bearable! The story was good and the chemistry was there so there was no need for skinship! Less is more! Someone should tell Thai bl producers that!
Yep, even criminal convictions are no longer valid after 6-11 years depending on severity. Even the law forgives…
The law forgives, as you rightfully point out, if you pay your dues but the internet remembers everything and one is not allowed to be forgiven there and therefore everywhere! Our society is sick because the netizens have too much power which they use in order to destroy people's lives!
if you're talking about the wedding since that's in the last few minutes, they literally showed that adachi was…
Yes the wedding and everything else that followed....those lest few minutes were those which ruined everything: adding fantasy on fantasy! Too much! For me anyway!
Wich part is the peak of cringe for you exactly? (no hate, I just want to know).
The wedding and onwards! it felt forced, not natural and they all seemed uncomfortable! The perfect ending would have been the two of them on the beach, a scene just before the wedding!
This is for those who love manga elements in a live action drama! It seems funny & interesting but not my cup of tea: this is a live action manga with every single manga code in it! Everything is exaggerated and OTT! Cringy as hell!
no i didn't don't worry ^_^ when i refer to hometown cha cha cha i meant same slow pace same lukewarm romance…
Thank you for explanation! I did not see it quite this way but now that I think of it, it did leave me a sort of uncomplete feeling, as if something important was missing! They were frozen! But on the other hand, rare are the k drama romances that are not frozen! Most of the times, I find that when they confess to each other , it creates a huge gap between them and instead of being curious and open about each other, a kind of extreme timidity usually takes place! Anyway, your review was fun to read! thanks!

So, you deleted your previous review in order to remove my comment! Well done! Seeing how gracious you are in accepting praise, I was going to do it myself! Anyway, I got the message, I won't be commenting on your reviews ever again! Keep up the good work!
"But if you liked hometown cha cha cha So you are going to like this one" Why do you say this? I found your review interesting but I do not understand the last lines of it and the reason is that this is one of my favourite dramas while Hometown ChaChaCha I hated (I tried watching it three times and eventually dropped it halfway through the third episode: the accumulation of every possible drama trope was too much for me to bear!) Please do not take this the wrong way; you are right to dislike this if you had no fun watching it. I love reading negative review of the drama I watched because very often they point out things I did not notice! It is like the lightbulb effect!
The main pair are fun to watch but I really do not like cinematography here; the drama looks so cold and artificial, too sharp and clear! Definitely not nice to watch; It hurts my eyes and the reason are not the MLs hawaian shirts! Is it due to digital cameras?

I agree with you on every point you made! I had the same experience! Hype made me watch the sequel which is a hundred times better! Try it, you may like it if you try it! Great review!
