I don't have a favorite actor, but I was attracted by the title of the drama and watched it. I often quit watching dramas after the first 10 minutes, but on the contrary, I was drawn in and watched it all the way to the last episode. Vin Zhang and Yu Shu Xin are great in their roles, and their acting is so natural that no other actors could have pulled it off. The script, director's editing, casting, and music are also effective, even without the action and intense love scenes required in Chinese dramas. The only disappointment is that I felt uncomfortable every time 2ndML was called handsome in the play.
I am really enjoying this drama. Because it is not just a simple love story aimed at a teenage female audience, but it also addresses the issue of women balancing work and family, and there is mystery and wit hidden throughout. It is a drama for mature adults. However, it would have been better to cut most of the story about Qin Shi's second brother and focus on the relationship between Qin Shi and Yang Hua.
I was trying to figure out why Yang Hua disappeared from Qing Shi's life for 7 months. I think I understand after watching episode 36 to the last episode again. They got married on March 10 (ep. 18), and after the divorce, it was cherry blossom season again. In other words, they were married for about a year. On the other hand, Qing Shi firmly believes that love lasts only 18 months. Yang Hua disappeared for 7 months and then showed up after 19 months, one year plus 7 months, probably hoping to clear up any misconceptions Qing Shi may have had about love!
Yang Ha smiles as he pulls out a prenuptial agreement before Yang Ha initiates the divorce. Why is that? It must have something to do with Yang Ha's principles. Just before, Yang Ha asked Qing Shi if she would choose MR. Tao as her partner if marriage was not involved. Only when Qing Shi asked this question, she answered in a puzzled manner without looking at Yang Ha's face seriously. Seeing this, Yang Ha must have misunderstood that his feelings were unrequited love and that Qing Shi liked Mr. Tao. So, he must have thought that Yang Ha's principle "the person you love will be happy by his actions", i.e., he thought that by getting divorced, Qing Shi would be single again, and by becoming partners with MR.Tao, Qing Shi would be happy. This would be unthinkable under normal circumstances, but Yang Ha may have suffered a major setback at work, and he may have despised himself as a wimp and thought that Mr. Tao was more suitable for Qing Shi.
Someone may have pointed this out before. Yang Hua's computer login password "775094" made sense. Comparing the numbers and letters on the phone, 77 is "Qin Shi" and 94 is "Yang Hua The 5 in between the "50" is "love" and the 0 is "+ (and) In other words, the password "775094" meant that Qin Shi and Yang Hua loved each other. Quite stylish!
I was surprised by XU KAI's acting ability. Unlike in the past, his role as a recluse with a refractive heart is a departure from his idol actor roles, but he performed it beautifully. His acting ability clearly set him apart from one-pattern idol actors such as YAN YAN, LEO LUO, and ALEN REN. In addition, the performances of FL's YANG MI and supporting actors Li Ze Feng and Tang Jing Mei are also quintessential!
7.9 points is too low. I agree. But there is no need to be so disappointed. iQiyi is not expecting to satisfy all age groups with this drama, and the main target age group they want to appeal to is probably 34 and under. Age group 13-17 get score is 8.5 points, 18-24 get 8.6, and 25-34 get 8.2. I think that broadcasters and directors are confident that the drama is right on target and they are happy with the results.
This drama is wonderful. I'm surprised at FL's performance, her acting is great. Also ML's acting is great. This drama is not popular in china, but it is a world standard class drama. It is worth to watch anytime.
