I watched generation to generation while it was airing. The cast was nice but I wasnt impressed with the production…
True . And most importantly both the male and female lead have given excellent performances here, bringing out raw emotions without an y emphasis to look perfect and good all the time.. Both are brilliant actors.. in generation to generation, the female lead was remarkably pretty but felt the acting could be more expressive
The drama was a great watch, and the fight scenes were great. However I felt. The female lead could have been more expressive. Like that moment when Mu qingyan had come secretly to her room. And her master had called her out and asked Mu to come and he came out. Her face seemed to be expressionless. I expected, tension, fear of being caught, fear of why he came out.. but none could be found.. but yes she is definitely very pretty and her fight scenes are really great and suited the carefree nature of cai zhao
Yeahhh, i think so too. At the last episode, he just shout her name only, and a little bit of tears. Maybe he…
Yeahh I enjoyed it overall too.. but its like certain points, where I'd be like I wish it could've been this way that's what.. thing more screentime should have been given to his emotions processing..

Not sure what the reason is, but it's like the scene is perfectly set for me to burst into tears, yet I am not bursting into tears .. it could have been more impactful..
Really loved the drama. And though it's my first time watching wang yinglu her acting really impressed me. I was already a fan of male leads acting in lighter and princess. But it seems in this drama, the full impact of emotions could not be felt.. it's as if the expression of his emotions were muted despite best efforts.. especially in the last episode where liao tingyan disappears in front of him.. I feel the heartbreak expressed could have been more profound.. Both leads have worked very hard and this drama deserves every bit of appreciation 💞
After watching the drama, and reading the drama. I totally agree with you. Xiao Jue and He yan were protrayed…
So true, there are so many places they could've added depth and intensity to the characters as you pointed out. That He Yan was so well versed in war strategies, wish they had focussed on it more. Despite all I really enjoyed the drama and novel both! Have been obsessing with since days.
Totally loved the show. Ended up reading the Novel too. Liked the drama version better in some aspects . 1) like Xiao Jue involved He Yan in all his matters, making it feels like he truly treated her as his trusted associate too.. while in novel. More of Xiao Jue protecting He Yan and doing all his tasks by himself. 2) Also in drama Xiao Jue was more heartwarming, and his subtle expressions showed his liking for He Yan from very begining, while in novel the liking was evident quite late.. 3) In terms of intensity, yes novel felt more intense than the drama.
I miss them so much.I wish I could forget, and start it afresh. Even when I am watching other dramas, my heart still yearns for this one. It has become like that first love whom you will never forgetðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Have you read the novel ? there is extra chapter/story, it's quite interesting
I have read the novel, even the extra and bonus chapters. But my heart yearns for more. At this point, even if someone decides to release a series of just TianYao and Yanhui i would still watch. I am quenching my longing for stories by creating plots with chatgpt. But I would love to read fanfictions:(
Finally completed watching the series!! I have watched many dramas that have made me cry, but this is the first drama that made me cry because it was ending. Everday, I had the episodes to look forward to, and now its ended. I am already having withdrawal symptoms, the worst one ever.ðŸ˜ðŸ˜. I am not exaggerating, but it almost feels like breakup,.. The first drama that had me commenting here.. Ill miss it all.ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
I think cause now he is become immortal, not cause he lost his cultivate like other drama.
In addition to that, it may also be because of his grief of losing Yanhui. The lyrics of the ending credits song's english translation goes like, "My grey hair represents my longing for you". The entire lyrics explains his wait for Yanhui so well, wish they had actually been picturised as well:(
