This argument seems a bit odd to me. If we follow this logic, it would be ok to insert a romantic rape situation…
when did i ever say that they're criticizing the overuse of sound effects. the makers are using the sound effects to criticize the toxic traits of the bl industry. coming to your argument about the "romantic rape", in the first ep gene was writing (forcefully) about a potential sexual harassment scene for his book which he obviously did not want to write but was pressurised by his higher ups. him being frustrated, deleted the whole scene and released his frustration by yelling "this is sexual harassment, how is this romantic?" and that, in my opinion, was a very appropriate way of throwing shade towards the industry.
i read numerous comments complaining about the sound effects in the first episode, so felt the need to write this. in my opinion, the sound effects are inserted to throw shade/ poke fun of the bl industry. the whole concept of the drama is based on exposing the toxic traits of the industry, may it be glorifying and romanticizing sexual harassment or closeted homophobia or toxic fans who can go at any levels to make their "ship sail". so you can think of it as a parody.
anyways i completely understand if it gets annoying sometimes and very honestly i found it irritating at time as well, but i just wanted to put forward a possible reason for the makers to have these un naturally high in numbers and sometimes cringey sound effects.
