Great series. The only problem is shitty google translated subtitles if watching on YouTube. Luckily I can understand Chinese for most parts except court related technical terms.
Mostly here are the issues regarding subtitles: - if u frequently see “hospital” (from yuan 院), it means their judges department - google translated subtitles have no context on previous subtitles so it tend to add eg. “I”, “he”, “she” on the subtitle - some idioms are translated literally, eg 刻舟求剑 is “an action made pointless by changed circumstances“, but subtitle become “ Carving a boat and seeking a sword” (LMAO)
Watching this drama for Cheng Yi. went in with 0 expectation and an open mind, at episode 37 now, this series is surprisingly quite good. Love the casts here. I’m hooked and i dont want this drama to end 😭 I love the BGM here as well.

Chemistry is really good between the main lead, and Cheng Yi's acting is great as always. I watch it for Cheng Yi's acting and main lead's chemistry. I don't really give a damn about 2nd lead's romance though, and used my phone when it comes to their scenes 💀 Some supporting characters are insufferable, but at least the other girl Zhizhi who loves Yunshen got 良心 (conscience), she's a good person.
Not sure who can be considered 2nd FL? If it's Zhizhi then not annoying. Gu Ruanruan (2nd lead's FL) also not that annoying, also a good person at heart. The mum? Insufferable... Zhizhi's mum? Also insufferable. There's quite a lot of angst (but surprisingly I can still take on the angst and kind of watch at normal speed unlike Cheng Yi's other drama, made me 1.5x speed when it's angst scene). Definitely melodrama.
ep 36 where yunshen started sobbing while sending voice messages to zhu jiu... cried during that part... can really feel his pain... damn, cheng yi is an amazing actor

the funny thing is, I thought since this is a modern drama, maybe there wont be so much suffering. haha watched first few episodes of South Wind Knows ep 1 and I'm already wrong 🤡🤡
