In Shanghai in the 1920s, Ren Susu, the daughter of an 11-year-old drug dealer, saved Murong Qingyi, a down-and-out young man of the same age, who was in danger, but the Ren family suffered a disaster. Ren Susu survived and vowed to find out the truth about her parents' accident. Eight years later, Ren Susu deliberately approached Murong Qingyi and became his lover to find out the truth, but after learning that Murong Qingyi was innocent, she pretended to be dead and disappeared. Another three years passed, and Ren Susu returned to Shanghai as the daughter of a wealthy businessman in Nanyang and became the fiancee of Murong Qingyi’s cousin. Murong Qingyi was angry and suspicious of her appearance, and undercurrents surged between the two, testing each other. At the same time, Murong Qingyi was fighting for power with the four parties in Shanghai, and Ren Susu also used the identity of a wealthy woman to find out the truth. The two rekindled their feelings, and the truth surfaced. Faced with the estrangement of the feud the two could no longer continue their relationship, and thus broke up. In 1937, driven by the current situation, Ren Susu and Murong Qingyi met again while performing a mission. During the operation, Murong Qingyi disappeared. After completing the mission Ren Susu returned to the place where she had agreed with Murong Qingyi and waited alone for Murong Qingyi’s return.

the sasaeng sounds like a psycho (what she did to him) he was nice/kind enough to forgive her but then she got even worst. glad he got the police involved.
