This was so much fun! I went into it with basically no idea of what it will be, but it was super refreshing. A lot of comments are critical of the romance here, but I loved it. The leads had such nice chemistry, and honestly, for me it made sense so I hope it doesn't discourage anyone of at least checking out the show. Absolutely recommend it, worth a try!
If anyone is interested in the romantic elements of the story, there is indeed a romantic relationship that develops…
I plan to watch this, but I'm very picky about endings lol. So do I get it right, that the chef and the king do get feelings for eachother, but in the end the chef gets back to his own time/body so te king actually ends up not with the chef, but the queen, the original owner of the queen's body?
Are they gonna do the tired amnesia trope for the leads? And how ML is alive all these years?
At the very end of season 1 we could see that there was a scar on the back of ML's neck, so my theory is that he got a creature in him either during s1 or after that that will be explained in s2, and he just simply didn't age. I mean the doctor is in the posters as well, so I don't really think this is a reincarnation story when everyone got a second life. But we will see, I'm super curious as well!
why the main poster only has park seo joon 🤧 is it because of the past controversy of han so hee
That's not the main poster, I think that is not released yet. This is just the newest character poster for PSJ's character. HSH has one as well, and a few other characters ˆˆ I think mydramalist just used this one as a placeholder until the final poster/cover picture is released
This was so good!! 100% recommend the show ♡ The plot was good imo, not groundbreaking, but well executed. The characters were nice, and I liked their character developement as well. The ones shining the most tho were the actors, casting was spot on! Especially the two leads, they had really good chemisrty together. I dropped/have a lot of good kdramas on hold, and honestly I didn't finish even one kdrama this year yet ;-; Until now!! I binge watched this show in 3-4 days despite fighting with laggy streaming but it was so so worth it. Started this series randomly after seeing a reel of it, but it restored my faith in magical/mysterious romance kdramas ♡
1. why was sin-yu in a relationship with the mayors daughter to begin with? did they ever explain that lol2. did…
I think it could've been planned by the parents; Sin-yu was the son of he head of a development company that worked with the City Hall and the mayor for a while, while also being a young and aspiring lawyer. The mayor's daughter seems to be working for an architect or design company (as she worked on remodeling/renovating some places in the City Hall), so honestly there was a lot of connection between the two and their families. They also could have met naturally and hit it off after that. Nayeon an Sinyu seem to be a logical pairing in reality.
The spells could've worked, but it doesn't really matter imo. There were hints of the fair skin spell to work for example, but it's a harmless spell, without real consequences. The disease nullification spell didn't work, bc Sinyu didn't have a disease in the literal sense, like the flu, but a genetic illness, caused by the curse. So he would've needed like a curse nullification spell instead or something. The love spell doesn't matter weather it worked or not, he was already in love with her, it might just have justified his actions to him which quickened things between the two leads. The gardener also already had an infatuation for Hong jo, I mean who drinks from someone elses tumbler unless offered. And he was already dangerous, but the love spell (if it worked) could have made him more obsessed with her too.
The last scene with Jang Mujin (Shinyu's past self) I think just explained how the spellbooks got where they were. The second wife of the king wanted Aeng cho's spellbooks and in the flashbacks Mujin seemed to try to hand them over to her to save Aeng cho and himself, but we never saw what happend with the box with the spell books after the fight in the snow and Mujin ending Aeng cho's life. So I think it just showed that he never handed them over to the king's second wife and that he was loyal to Aeng cho's wishes and didn't let them fall into bad hands by burying the box.
Season 1 is one of the best kdramas ever made so its not even realistic to think they can make season 2 better.…
It honestly doesn't have to be better, for me personally doesn't even have to be as good as S1 was, just pls give me a definite ending lol. The open ending of the show was so frustrting and honestly soured the whole experience for me ˆˆ"
I decided to pick back up the show, so I can watch season 2, but I originally droppedfor the very same reasons…
Me too, I enjoye these platonic (or how to say XD) scenes much more. But the fact that others feel the same, but also like the second season makes me feel like it's worth to get throught the first season ♡
I have rewatched this seaosn right now and there is sooo much thats bothering me.Yoo Ri was more invested in saving…
I decided to pick back up the show, so I can watch season 2, but I originally droppedfor the very same reasons you just mentioned... so this is a bit of a hard watch for me lol X'D I'm actually skipping through the romance scenes. They are all good actors, but I feel like ML and FL have no chemistry.
She went all the way down to 36kg for this role. As they were filming, she slowly was regaining her weight back…
Oh that's dedication, also explains everything. Thank you, I was wondering it as well when I started the show, but now as you mentioned it, it is logical :D
I agree. I would be so happy if the Commander Yai storyline (including the present time, as it's short at the…
Honestly, thai bls are doing better and better imo. And also as this show was mainly marketed as a lakorn (thai telenovela) more than a bl (if what people said here is true), I feel like it has a bigger chance for season 2. Also so sorry for the late reply, I didn't read the novel, just the last chapter and the alternate ending, but if your question is about them and / or you are still curious, ask away!
Hear me out.....I like a 'happy ever after' as much as the next person, but only when it makes sense. If you get…
I agree that the ending is abrupt, sadly for it to really make sense people have to read the novel. Knowing how the original story ended, it's obvious who the person was, but that's because it's explained well in the novel.
That's also a reason why I think they might make a season two at some point. This ending gives room for continuation imo
