yeah I forgot to address that. I wouldn’t have had a problem if the genders were reversed; however, I understand your point about the public opinion going down.
I love this but I just have 1 question. How much hate would this drama get if the professor was a man and the…
Personally, I don't have a problem with the age gap in this one, though I understand why you'd be uncomfortable, mostly because they are both consenting adults. The age of adulthood in Korea is 19 (international age), and he's probably 19 or 20 considering he's in first year of school. Possibly older if he attended a different college before going to law school (I'm not sure how college works in Korea exactly). Another thing is that it is the younger party who has a crush on the older party, and they are both adults by the time they ended up together. I'm not exactly rooting for them, but I just wanted to add my opinion! I understand your feelings though — there's this Thai drama called Devil Sister where the FL is 7 years older and they were dating when the ML was in highschool, which made me highly uncomfortable. Though to add to that, the teacher/student dynamic does make me uncomfortable, more so than the age gap.
First of all, you have to consider the laws in Thailand. The age of consent is different in different countries…
I think it was 24 and 17, because they said that Namcha was graduating at 24. At the moment, she’s 31 and he’s 24, and if they broke up 7 years ago (like they said in episode 1), she would’ve been 24! So it’s not as bad as if he were 14, but it’s still not okay (in my opinion).

Hi. The age of consent in Thailand is 15, yes; however, Thai citizens become adults at the age of 20. Therefore, Namcha is still a minor when he’s dating Irin. Additionally, if one party thinks the relationship is scandalous enough to keep a secret because of an age difference, it probably shouldn’t be happening. Again, I would’ve adored this show if they had met as adults, but as it stands now, I am very much against Irin and Namcha because, even if he was old enough to “consent” based on Thai law, he’s still a minor. I do understand that this can be interpreted differently for other countries, but it still makes me uncomfortable. I was just stating my opinion :) Additionally, I don’t really believe Namcha really loves her, more obsessed with the idea of her and the image he has of her in his head, but that’s a whole different conversation lol
why is it suddenly okay that a 17 year old high schooler (namcha) is dating his 7 year older neighbor (irin)? like, i don't mind age gaps, but it's not okay when one is a minor. i wish they had met when they were adults, the whole show/pairing would be more appealing then.
right now, i'm rooting for inn, she's quickly becoming my favorite character. i love her complexities.
