Almost unwatchable

Brothers rivalry done wrong. The plot is too ridiculous in a bad way, it lacked that tiny bit of sense to keep it grounded. Bad set up, lame characters, childish love triangle/square, disappointing revenge, and unnecessarily long. The last 5 episodes were very detached, random made up events with no clear direction.

Alright

I like when Kim Sun Ah used to have a wider jaw line. I just miss the old Kim Sun Ah in general. Nowadays all her projects are about revenge and cunning. The drama is alright although it was lacking an interesting element. I was expecting the drama to explore more cases related to archeology but there were only a few. Meanwhile the romance was kinda cheesy but at least there was no big triangles.

.

The usual makjang route without anything new or interesting that would stand out. Which would be fine if it weren't 160 episodes. Aside from the repetitive nature of the genre, they were including a lot of necessary fillers that were meaningless. Apparently the writer was struggling too, especially with the autistic main lead Hyung Woo. He was introduced briefly and had some screen-time in the first 30 episodes then he almost was never on screen other than once every 5 episodes until they brought him back for the last 30 episodes. I guess writing for an autistic character would require more effort.

Even if we disregarded the ending, I wouldn't recommend the drama. Sure it had some funny moments amongst the family members and there was good chemistry roaming around but the drama had serious issues in many different aspects. Despite having a good start, the problems started surfacing within 10 episodes only! Not a good sign!

I believe the writer became possessed by an old midget goblin demon soul as she was crafting this abomination of an ending. She must've really hated her job at the time or had a big conflict with the production company/staff. I refuse to believe she was normal while writing the ending. Despite the writer being known to have these kind of unhinged tendencies, stupidity and retardness shall not be forgiven!

Bad...

To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I came into this expecting something similar to "Giant (2010)" but ended up getting a flashy action and a lousy over-dramatic fuss. This the type of drama were you get 20 quick flashy shaky camera edits before an action is taken. Lackluster action despite having a massive budget. It seems the number of episodes was predetermined before finalizing the story/writing, this is why we got a handful of nothingness. What do you expect from the writing department when they had internal issues midway through. Even the lead actress dropped out halfway through. Even the other female lead had a significant screen time reduction.

The drama had one of the cringest last scene epilogue out there. The awkwardness as they were sitting around the table, I could feel it piercing through my bones. Can't help but feel this was a waste of big cast. Classic Korean society normalizing rape with no consequences, even more favorable for the rapist. My expectations and interest were nullified when that happened. All the relationships sucked, romantic and non-romantic ones. By the end, I couldn't care less what happens to who. One finale remark, if they want to commit to the route they choose, then there should've been more deaths!

It's not it....

I couldn't stand the lead actor Kim Min Jong. He looks he's in his 40s but acts and dress like he's in his 20s. Both male sucked. All the relationships sucked, romantic and non-romantic ones. By the end, I couldn't care less who would end up with who.

Barely watchable...

Right from the beginning it became apparent what the writer intend to do to write this sloppy mess. Every small thing will alter to the writer's wish ignoring the most basic sanest common sense practice. It was really hard to look at anything else past this. No likable characters to be seen anywhere. Both guys that were chasing Do Na were pure cringe. In fact, their love triangle was the worst part about the drama.

I don't know why most of these "mothers" themed drama fail to make the theme work and end up shooting themselves in the foot. What made the matter even worse is how weak the FL character is, it didn't suit playing a proper image of a mother in these specific circumstances. There were so many ways they could stir the story but they choose the least interesting and the longest way. After episode 24 everything was laid out and there was nothing to lookout for.

The biggest problem the drama has is that one major secret which was the one and only major point of tension. The revelation itself was weaker than expected after a long build up. Once the secret was revealed there wasn't anything else to replace it especially when it came a little early.

I was expecting more stories for the other members of the family but only the two sisters were the focus. The characters' shenanigans in the department store was boring. I didn't feel much chemistry going on between anyone. The ending was quick and dirty as per usual.

This is without any doubt the dullest revenge plot I've ever seen. The first 40 episodes were unbelievably bad, it got a little tiny bit better after that. It was a bad move changing one of the actresses. Jung Won changing her hairstyle was a bad move too. Another bad move is the ending.

Oh god this was a complete disaster. I couldn't like a single thing about it. The drama screams cheap, every single aspect you could think off was cheap! Also, utterly garbage ending.

I refuse to believe an 8 yo could be this menace. A fleet of psychologists wouldn't be able to help this lost cause. The amount of secrets, birth secrets and swaps was unbearable that it made the drama tedious and frustrating. The characters' writing didn't help either. You got your usual doormat character who is the "goodest" person to ever live, you may as well erase her entire blood line and she will forgive you. The flashbacks at the beginning were utterly boring and too goddamn long lasting for 10 episodes. They are designed to push away any potential viewers. The romance was straight up ass, anime highschool romances are better. The resolution/ending/last episode all sucked. Nothing will go as you like.

Goddammit! It's the usual revenge in a business setting but this time they are wearing white coats because they are in a hospital. How innovative! I was expecting the female lead to become a doctor for her revenge like they usually do in these time-skips revenge dramas but all you'll get 2-3 medical scenes at most and that's it. The very first "fatal" mistake the drama committed was the blatant incompetence of the justice system. Whenever you see that you know immediately how the rest will carry on. This was a weak revenge drama, everything was facilitated for the female lead to execute her revenge. She didn't put the effort to take revenge. The drama also had some serious pointless drag for the last 15 episodes. Even with that stretch they couldn't slap a better ending. Go Se Won doesn't have what it takes to be a male lead, maybe if he was a 2nd male lead would be better. I don't like his face anyway. Poor Ji Hoon was treated like a bag of dirt throughout the whole thing. Couldn't they give him any purpose other than being a dimwit? Park Ha Na was fine.

Eww...

The drama had an awful love square going on, all four were a bunch of children. They literally behave, act and throw tantrums like children. Nonetheless, it's a badly written drama and the stupidity is overwhelming. It's unbelievable how stupid every single character. What's even worse than all of that is both male leads. Both can't act, pure cringe, weakest part of the cast and the worst characters in the drama.

Well, it goes without saying that this one is infinitely better than the clusterfuck of the remake. The remake was an embarrassment to be made in the first place. With that being said, the drama itself is still problematic with its writing, direction, progress, development and conclusion. Also, I hated that one soundtrack with auto tune that kept playing every 2 seconds. Still watchable tho.
