Have you watched One and Only? It's the prequel. After watching Forever and Ever, I feel what u feel... It still…
Yeah I realized there was a prequel. But in all honesty, I'm not gonna set myself for heartbreak. "Forever and Ever" gave me the necessary details of the prequel even though they were really just bits and pieces.
But before knowing there was a prequel, I thought that this story was such a fresh concept, cuz the historical aspects ware really just there, vague, and that vagueness gave the heavy vibe for this drama. Idk, imo, even if "Forever and Ever" was a stand-alone, I would have been okay with that.
Heavy. The last emotion that I felt for this drama. "Forever and Ever" had this heavy touch of rebirth, past-life and most importantly past-life memories that I felt slightly burdened with. The ost made it seem even more heavy, nevertheless I enjoyed it.
To be honest, if I were to give an analog, I would say, that this drama was like absolute small-screen version of the ost "Lover's Curse" from "Love and Redemption". If the emotion of "Lover's curse" had its own plot, I felt "Forever and Ever" would suit it.
Even though 75% of the drama gave off the historical vibe, the rest of the 25% of modern drama somehow made it up to it and the overall tone was just deemed perfect.
As a fan, I enjoyed Bai Lu's performance in this drama, and was introduced to Allen Ren. Overall - 8.5
Update: I just realized that the historical aspect actually came from this whole new drama that they previously acted in, Gosh! no wonder, I get the origins of the vibe now!
