At first I agree. But as I think about it, I think it's needed for the character to be that way IF the writer choose to develop her character later. A bland Mary Sue or someone that righteous and perfect from the first would make it less interesting. As I observed, all 4 main leads are all have flaws in their character, in which they will lead to character developments.

Agree, I think the idea of FL started out as a man isn't necessary here. It looks like the usual BxG relationship. FL doesn't even behaves like a guy, just look at how he run femininely by how he lifted his clothes or how he fidgeted his hand when he felt nervous. I get it that guy might do the same, but there's a distinct difference on how a girl and a guy express it.
