Yoohyun's aunt is a hypocrite and a toxic family figure. She pressured Jieun to do her bidding because really she just wanted somebody else to do her dirty work without ratting her out. She is using the excuse that she is taking over the company for her descendants when it's her personal ambitions point blank. Thankfully, Jieun realized that by framing Hani of plagiarism, she is walking in the steps of her mother-in-law who is the type of parent she doesn't want to be.
Also, Yoohyun's aunt does not care about the company and its customers unlike Yoohyun's father. She thinks it's game on for her after she saves Joa Confectionery from bankruptcy, but does she really have the ability and the perseverance to rebuild the company's prestige and rebuild the trust the it had with its consumers after the severe damages it will receive? I certainly don't think so from the way she reacted to the boy with the cookie allergy and the bio strawberry farmers wanting to stop distributing for Joa Confectionery.
I know she is just a fictional character but her characterization is rather realistic though she is your average self-serving villain.
So you are telling me they killed Yohan?! Time to drop this drama ;( This drama is getting all fuvked up like…
I shouldn't be comparing dramas but "Duel" was a fairly great crime investigation/thriller/sci-fi drama to me. The writer developed the plot in a way we're not exposed to the mystery right away but if you're observant enough, you could piece up the plot bit by bit while not losing your interest along the way.
Is PD detective's daughter ? But why she's saying that her father is a killer?
Honestly everything is puzzling. So it looks like she assisted Han Seojun in his murders (like bait and tying up the victims) but she also says that she is the "child of a killer"(maybe she does feel that Han Seojun is a father figure to her but in a twisted way). And then she confronted the retired detective why he lied about killing Lieutenant Park's daughter.
I feel like the writer at this point is a farmer who is trying different types of crops in a field regardless…
I shouldn't be so quick about being salty but episode 8 just made me blank. I really hope it's not the writer being overly ambitious, just a third party interfering with her script like what happened with "Black".
Okay I take it back that Han Seojun is not the Headhunter. He clearly was the one who made Hongju tie up Song Sujeong >:(( This drama makes me go left and right
I have a doubt though why is anyone not talking about the fact that Dr.Lee can be the main killer as you all know…
This is my theory if Han Seojun is not the Headhunter.
What I find interesting about the Headhunter is that he seems to be acquainted with genetics. The police determined that Lieutenant Park's daughter is dead because they found her DNA on the clothes and the strand of hair they found at a construction site. Yet in my knowledge, DNA testing was a fairly new technique back then in the 90s so I was wondering if the Headhunter worked in the field.
I am so glad writer has grown up this fast. I wonder if she swallowed w some magical pill or somethings because…
I heard that the ending of "Black" wasn't entirely the scriptwriter's original idea. After people vented out their frustrations about it, she wrote a post on her blog explaining that she had to rewrite most of the drama and the ending as well due to pressure from the drama producers and I think she also had to extend the episodes due to popularity. So I wouldn't say she fails to deliver a good ending each time.
Sung Jieun in episode 7 was interesting. I'm wondering why she would mourn Yohan's death if she was so terrified of her offspring with Han Seojun per her nightmare, and she called Yohan "my poor son", and I think she said something along the lines of "what should I do with my sin" when she was scattering Yohan's ashes into the sea.
Did Bongyi really kill Yohan (but the scene was cut before she succeeded)? According to the doctor, Yohan died from a lung infection(?) due to a germ. And what kind of police leaves a hospital room unsupervised from the looks of it?!
So Han Seojun is not the Headhunter?! I suspected this early on since Headhunter's killing style and Han Seojun's are rather different. I have a feeling the Headhunter liked seeing Song Sujeong to suffer from the way he hit her head multiple times.
I think Hongjoo is Lieutenant Park's daughter who is presumed dead. Originally I was under the belief that Headhunter kidnapped Lieutenant Park's wife and daughter but it was actually his son and daughter. So the son managed to escape but he got hit by a car during his escape while his daughter was still considered missing until they found her clothes and a hair strand that they checked to have her DNA. Therefore, technically they haven't found her corpse yet, which leaves the possibility that she's still living. Additionally, through flashbacks, we see that child Hongju assisted in the murder of Song Sujeong, and the knot expert Moochi consulted said that while both knots from 1995 and 2020 are tied in the same way, the first one appears to have been tied by a child.
So there's a new killer and he's suspected of being a sadist because he enjoys watching his victims struggling and writhing in pain. The wrists of the first and second murder victims were tied up but in a loose way so they can wriggle out but the killer is giving them false hope of flight. Moochi, now assigned to the department that manages evidence, remembered he saw something similar and discovered that the Headhunter shared the same tendency so he thinks that either somebody taught Headhunter or the latter might have taught it to somebody else. That's why Moochi and Bareum went to visit Headhunter to verify Moochi's theory yet Headhunter doesn't want to see the man who killed his son, consequently he instead wanted to meet Bareum. Interestingly, Headhunter said that he's not the one who did the knot which suggests that he is perhaps not the Headhunter.
I think.... We will never see these two suspect at anly killings. Writers gonna play us till end. Only to make…
The writer has a tendency to show the real culprit (or mastermind) in the last or second-to-last episode, so our current theories about who may be the current killer may be wrong lol
Is it a norm in Korea to marry at 40-45+ age? So weird seeing all those 50-ish looking ladies having little kids…
No, it's not a norm, Sung Jieun is supposed to be thirty when she's pregnant with Han Seojun's child. I guess they got the actress to play her character at a younger age too because the past sequence is rather short. You're not the only one about Dr. Daniel Lee's accent. I understand the actor has trouble speaking English to begin with, but then the students who were attending his lecture didn't even have a British accent lol (if they didn't mention Dr. Daniel Lee was based in Britain, I would have thought it's the States).
