Regarding the last point, I had assumed that she didn't mean her mother since this drama had completed filming…
Ah, I got the year wrong because the it only came to light this year. Silly me! Thanks for the explanation!

Is it bad that I don't really want Chenting to has a redemption arc? Like, not everyone deserves a happy ending.
Personally, I don't think the production crew is trying to make Chen Ting out to be a villain, and she thus, has no need for a "redemption arc". If anything, it'd just me a character growth by the end of the drama. I simply see her as a very frustrating character because of how selfish she is. It was obvious that every decision she makes concerning Ling Xiao was for herself. Now, she's even affecting Xiao Cheng Zi with her decisions too. Ling Xiao pointed it out in the recent episode, about how her life should revolve around her young child (Xiao Cheng Zi); that she shouldn't move back to Macau until Xiao Cheng Zi has graduated from high school. But she simply replied that it won't be troublesome for them to travel back and forth Singapore and Macau. Yet, she never thought to ask Xiao Cheng Zi about what she thinks about this.

You can also see that she's immature in her thinkings sometimes. She told Ling Xiao that she wants to move back to Macau because she only had Xiao Cheng Zi in Singapore, and had to see Xiao Cheng Zi sulking everyday. What kind of parent would make such a drastic decision to move countries just because of a reason like this?

Frankly speaking, I think that she, like Ling Xiao, is still living in the ghost of her past and suffering from how her daughter had died. We have to remember that she indirectly caused her daughter's death (she left her children alone and went out to play Mahjong, and even locked the gate from the outside so Ling Xiao couldn't go out to get help). Even though it was not mentioned, I think there's a high probability that her downward spiral may be because of her guilt, which in turn lead her to lash out at others because she couldn't accept the truth. I think that she simply needs a long overdue medical help. In one of the earlier episodes, Ling Xiao's father had explained how it's a taboo to be visiting the psychologist. I believe that this might be why she had never been brought to seek treatment before even though both Ling Xiao and Xiao Cheng Zi are very much aware that their mother is "insane".

LOL! Chinese do not display their sex life openly like western culture does. You can see any mentions of sleeping…
It's the 2018 one, the remake of Korean drama Age of Youth. Both My Youth and Youth are really great dramas (and underrated too); you should watch them! (:

Some facts about the cast that may add to the viewing experience- The actress for XCZ was apparently abandoned…
Regarding the last point, I had assumed that she didn't mean her mother since this drama had completed filming before the incident happened. Do you happen to know what she was referring to (or if she was just talking about it in general) or did I get the timeline of events wrong? Thank you!

Weibo comments seem to be saying that the drama will be extended (since they've been airing 20mins on the weekends…
I actually feel the opposite. I was wishing that it'd end today because the emotional exhaustion from watching LX's mother and stepsister is killing me. Here's hoping that it'd end well, and we'll have a few episodes of fluff~

As far as I know, both HunanTV and MangoTV have different cuts, but the content that gets released each day (for HunanTV and MangoTV VIP users) is still the same regardless.

However, like I've mentioned above, I've only seen this information from Weibo comments, and couldn't find the official announcement, so I might be wrong. But I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being true, because of the many shorter episodes. They don't have to film new scenes to have more episodes; all they have to do is to put together all the 20-odd minutes from the days when they released shorter episodes and they'd have "new" episodes to air.

Edit: Go Ahead's official Weibo has confirmed that the drama has been "extended". Fans have found out that it'll end this Sunday (46 episodes), but don't quote me on that because there's been no official announcement yet.

Also, I think you might have been referring to the TV version and the DVD version. If you are, then yes, the DVD version will still be 40 episodes (at around 45mins per episode). However, the DVD version is released slower than the TV version. Ultimately, the HunanTV and MangoTV versions will be released before the DVD version, so if they get "extended", the release of the DVD version will get pushed back too.

Is this drama (TV edition) going to be 40 episodes or extended?
Weibo comments seem to be saying that the drama will be extended (since they've been airing 20mins on the weekends instead of the usual 45~50mins), and that HunanTV had released an official announcement on its Weibo but I can't seem to find it. If anyone has the link to it please do share it!

When you can accept the change from 'bro' become something else, then it'll be an okay episode :)It's a fun eps,…
The writers have been dropping hints about LX liking LJJ romantically since they were in high school, so it wasn't that much of a surprise. The confession was indeed rather sudden, but I liked that he was straightforward after being caught kissing her forehead.

Also, the episode was way too hilarious for me to even let the fact that LX confessed sink in. The screenwriter did an excellent job with the dialogues. All the 更 (jokes) were so on point!

did anyone know why it is only update one episode last night on iqiyi, wetv and youtube?
If you're watching it from MangoTV on a paid membership or from the TV, it's two episodes each day, except for Fridays and Saturdays, which only airs one episode. Other platforms (and MangoTV on free membership) aired the drama one day late, so they're behind on the episodes. If I'm not wrong, they air two episodes each day except for Saturdays and Sundays.
