They are only supporting cast all though they play the main leads younger selfs their screen time would push them to supporting cast only, as the show is focusing on the current day the suporting cast for current day will get promoted more as this is where the focus of the show is not the flashback scenes. I am not saying they did a bad job I agree they had great chemistry and were good, just their stuff is not the focus of the show it is just to give context of why they are how they are during current day.
Episode 8 ending I am convinced that it is a fake out, I do not think the 2nd FMl has betrayed them again I think she has taken his father to an empty room or something and ML room it is his secratary that has come in as ML does not look concerned on final shot.

Yeah Charim comes across as a really greedy shalllow person you could compare her to Gang Ju's mother but the big difference is that Gang Ju's mother the impression I get is that was how she was broughht up, her father just spoiled her and she always had access to money where Cha Rim was brought up in a completely differnt enviroment and her siblings did not turn out the same way. As the older sister she would have always got new clothes and stuff where Da Rim got her hand-me-downs yet somehow Cha Rim is the one that became money hungry.
So based on next weeks trailer may finally be getting to a point wher DaRim finally acknowledges she may have feelings towards Gang Ju.
Why are 90% of the characters in this just awful people, grandparent toward their biogical daughter because of failed marriage when it was her husband that had an affair and got another woman pregnant. Director telling his bio son to move into the house and looks like the company that he essentially got from marrying Gang Ju's Mother, would not have the company if he married her and used money the connections of her Father on the promise he would raise and take care of Gang Ju as his own son yet he completely abandons him for such a silly reason the whole film degere was done beside the MBA and used his own money, I would assume that he raised him from a young age as his son this is so wrong. Cha Rim completely shitting on Gang Ju since the start complaining about nepotisim but more than happy to push Tae Young for the role where he does not even have a college education never mind and actual experience. Da Rims mother wondering if she would have lived in a house like director has if she actually dated him, answer no because he only got that thanks to him marrying Gang Ju's Mother you silly b***h
