Perhaps this information might also be of some help. I tried asking an AI about that teaser.
"Is new trailer the doll game chinese drama in 16th September using AI or CGI? "
The teaser trailer for the upcoming Chinese drama The Doll Game (今天也没变成玩偶呢), released by Youku, heavily utilizes traditional CGI (Computer-Generated Imagery) rather than AI generation alongside live-action footage.
Because "The Doll Game" is a dystopian, infinity-flow sci-fi thriller where a mysterious "Doll World" descends and transforms parts of the human world into massive, deadly game maps, the production relies extensively on CGI to create its surreal visual elements.
While AI tools are increasingly used in modern post-production pipelines for specific tasks like concept art, layout, or quick rendering tweaks, the complex visual effects seen in the trailer—such as the surreal landscape transitions, geometric shapes (like the Rubik's Cube), carousels, floating spheres, and complex monster models—are standard elements produced by visual effects (VFX) teams using 3D modeling and animation software (CGI).
Sorry, I just wanted to share what I know as a supporter of Dudu. I hope the drama is a success! 💪💪💪

I apologize. I am not a bot, either. If that is what you believe, that is fine; everyone is free to have their own opinion. Since we are strangers to one another, I am trying to explain things politely so as not to cause offense.🙏

i really hope they improve cgi instead of using Ai and that they only did it for the trailer...Because that amount…
They used CGI. You can read my explanation in comment above. And, Chinese audiences are not complaining; they are actually highly anticipating it. Rather than generating backlash, the teaser has sparked widespread excitement and positive buzz across Chinese social media and drama communities. Because the concept is fresh and unique. Sorry for any inappropriate words. Let's just wait for the good news. Thank you🙏

Sorry, I just want to clarify a few things. The "Doll Game" sequence actually utilized CGI and VFX . A production driven by AI wouldn't go to the lengths of building large-scale, authentic sets. As seen in the behind-the-scenes footage, the production team used massive green screens for sequences like the golden ball and frog game. None of that would be necessary if they were relying on AI, as AI could cut those costs. However, the production team insisted on meticulous detail—from the vast running track for the "tortoise and hare game" to the deserted city of Suzhou, the mirror maze, the flower garden, the dollhouse, the hide-and-seek game, and so on. You can look up the behind-the-scenes photos yourself. They invested heavily in creating or sourcing locations that perfectly matched the novel's descriptions, employed a crew of 500, and spent over four months just filming the 24 episodes. They paid close attention to detail to ensure the CGI effects looked right. Furthermore, this is an "S+" rated drama and one of Youku's flagship titles; they even announced a second season before the first had aired. They are clearly taking this drama very seriously. The reason the teaser might look like AI-generated content is likely due to its bright, cartoon-like color palette. Yet, that aesthetic actually aligns with the "dark fairy tale" theme—bright and dreamy, but ultimately deadly. Besides, this is just the first teaser, not the final product. With the rumored release set for December, there is still time to refine any shortcomings. Sorry for any inappropriate words. Let's just wait for the good news. Thank you🫶🏻🙏🏻

Just to share my perspective. The crew of "The Doll Game" is a large group, numbering 500 people. So, there are many hands working on the process. As we know, the novel is quite long, and 24 episodes is too short to encompass the entire game.
Rumors of a second season have been circulating, in addition to the variety show "Becoming Human Before Sunset." This S+ drama is also one of Youku's top picks. So, it seems the accelerated release was done to assess the drama's success so that a second season could be scheduled quickly before the main actors get busy.
And, there will be new material on the 16th.
Okay, December does feel rushed considering the concept of this drama. I loved the novel and really hope the adaptation is good and a huge success. Sorry for any inappropriate words. Let's just wait for the good news. Thank you🫶🏻🙏🏻

Yes, the drama has been postponed. It seems the production team is intent on securing Dudu and is waiting for her schedule to open up; they had hoped to start after the filming of *Dong Feng*. However, Tencent doesn't want to miss this opportunity after waiting a year for Dudu's schedule to clear. After all, Dudu is a Tencent VIP star—they won't just forget it. Although not bound by an exclusive contract—since Dudu operates as an independent company.

As for the rumors about the new modern drama, if that were to happen, especially regarding the character Fu Xue Li, I am certain Dudu wouldn't pass up the chance to play a role that is the complete opposite of her own personality.

Hmm, I just hope Dudu truly accepts Bu Xing. And then He Li. I'd also like to see her as Lu Tong (Deng Hua Xiao). Anyway, all the best to Dudu. Regardless of who her co-star is, I hope there is always a sense of peace, just like with Dong Feng🫶🏻

🍉 It looks like Dudu will be starring in another modern drama. Filming begins in October. It is a Tencent production. The title listed on kisskh is *Kiss in the Wind*.

I really hope Chen Duling accepts the role of Huang Rang (Bu Xing). And about Fu Jiu Xia (He Li) hope the role is still her & that she accepts it. I've read the novel & imagined Dudu's face. I still want to see her in a Xian Xia drama that focuses on her character. Because in FOF, her character feels like nothing more than background, her status as a lead feels incomplete. Meanwhile, in VOS, her scenes were cut too much. After she has enough roles in several Xian Xia & historical dramas, she can move on to serious scripts & films like she did in the beginning of her career. I hope after this modern Tencent drama (Dong Feng & 🍉), Dudu doesn't completely leave Hengdian. But whatever Dudu decides to do next, I hope her career continues to rise and she is always surrounded by sincere people 🫶🏻

Hello. For those wondering why Chen Duling didn't use her real voice, it sounds too mature for CZ's character, who is a teenager & a young woman. Since her debut, her voice has always been considered a mismatch with her face.😊
