can't call that a kiss, Watarai's lips touched Hioki's cheek - that's not even a peck. really wish they skipped…
Gosh that's how the novel is. They get a proper kiss later (probably on the next ep)
I really have to appreciate the actors for doing such a good job, this was one of the best jbl confession scene and it was only possible bc the actors are really good esp hioki's actor. his part in the confession felt so real like the subtle hyperventilating mixed with genuine interest and likeness for watarai was showed perfectly. watarai being a love sick fool who is actually awakward around his crush was perfectly captured too. I think this might become one of the best high school jbls if they can keep up the pace just like this

I knew something would happen. There's always something happening in the beach episode, but seriously, to get…
He didn't exactly get drunk he got dizzy and it's possible if ur not used to alcohol at all
I was pretty doubtful about this series when I first saw the trailer and even the the first ep, thought it was gonna be the same old popula guy/unpopular guy trope but I'm really pleased to say that the show proved me wrong. I think this show is the perfect example of how u can recycle old tropes but still make something unique with it. the first impression we get from the characters is nothing like how they truly are. at first we see watarai as this cold, ikemen and maybe jealous type but with more eps we actually get to see a awkward, bright and lovesick side of him. he's not as composed as the trope would suggest, he's jelous and wants hioki yet never crosses boundary (we'll see more of it if they follow the books properly). Hioki's character is my favorite, I thought he's gonna be funny awkward like the popular trope instead he's very relatable awkward. in the first ep we get the impression that he's friendless but we see in the recent eps that he actually has tons of friends he's just not in the same class as them. he's awkward but he's not cringe, he's actually very mature and he's amazing at reading the room which led to him actually catching on watarai making romantic advances on him pretty early on. this is another of my favorite things about this show, both main characters are very emotionally in tune with each other suggesting they're emotionally pretty mature for their age. I was not expecting hioki to accept watarai's crush on him so easily. I was expecting more oblivious hioki and him having a harder time to come in terms with the reality. but instead we actually see hioki also subtly flirting back and not exactly pushing watarai away when watarai gave him chances to push him away if it's something he didn't like. the confession scene is one of the most well done high school bl confession scenes, it was soft, beautifully shot without any exagarrated reaction or cringe dialogues. i loved how hioki essentially led on the confession by making that space for watarai. it was very realistic and again. beautiful. The other characters are also very well done even with minimal screen time. and at the very last, I'm absolutely in love with the camera work and production of this project. every scene is so very aesthetically pleasing I'm really happy and excited to see the future eps

the wait is going to kill me so I'm going to drop my thoughts here. I think this show as whole is doing a good job at selling what it promised. I think a lot of people are watching it with too much seriousness, it was never marketed as a real crime thriller but rather rom-com drama so some of the loopholes are expected. I remember seeing jojo saying the inspo behind it are 90s thai lakrons and if u know anything about thai lakrons back then you'll know how dramatic and nonsensical they can get so I really don't have a lot to complain about the plot. also I really really love the aesthetic, the character design. I think this show is one of the very first gmmtv shows where there characters hold onto a personal fashion making them much more interesting. firstkhao are serving as expected even though pair wise kantbison might not become my favorite firstkhao ship but then again the story is taking a turn so I might get surprised bc I was fawning over them throughout the last ep. I know a lot of people were liking fadelstyle more bc of kantbison's whole lying plot but I feel like it'll change since they've both come clean to each other and their scene blew up a lot across social medias. nothing new to say about their acting either, two of the best actors of gmmtv and they proved it again by portraying this much more complex relationship. Joon is doing hell of a job as fadel, by far this is his best role yet. his acting is really good both as protective brother and a lover. I'm definitely becoming a fan of him slowly but surely
Now the bad parts, I think the background music gets too much sometimes while I love the choice of bgm i think they can definitely tone it down a little. the script could.ve been more impactful. the kantbison confrontation scene was all firstkhao's work, it became something so good bc of their acting bc the script fell flat. and the last but very glaring con of this whole show is dunk's poor acting. please don't come for me I like him enough but it becomes really obvious and hard to ignore when all the co actors are doing such a great job. his crying scene made me cringe so hard I had to pause watching and take a stroll like sorry he's been acting for so long but still so bad at his job. Ik dunk fans are saying he's improved which is obviously a very good thing but just bc he improved doesn't make the criticism less of a truth. whenever him and joong are in a scene together you can tell joong has to hold back a lot to balance out the outcome which doesn't happen during fadelbison scenes. all the fadelbison scenes has been so good and joong actually got to shine. I was really liking fadelstyle more but after last ep I don't think that's true anymore bc firstkhao's explosive performance really dimmed out fadelstyle especially style for me.
all in all I'm enjoying the show more than I expected I would and very excited for how the ending will be.

Yes, unlike many actors who look like they're dying, not kissing.
yeah over expressions ruin so many kisses a lot of time these actors don't understand that

yes, they're the opposite of the Phuwin who clenches his mouth.
some of the actors definitely need more practice

wow so much negativity here but can we talk about the kant/bison swing kiss? everyone knows fk are no joke when comes to having great chemistry but that kiss felt so different in a good way. honestly it was such a good kiss and even better natural intimacy. I noticed a lot of times bl actors might be great kissers but they struggle with the movement of their body. i really want to applaud them for having such a great on screen chemistry I think it's safe to say they're currently one of the bests in the industry

My op: Including sex is totes fine, but in GMMTV BLs it's often ill timed or predictably timed, which makes it…
I think you don't have enough idea abut lakrons that are shown in cable chanels. Hsf isn't exactly a lakron, the director makes gls and other high school centered shows too. Hsf is also a remake so the script isn't exactly originally made by gmmtv. skynani are amazing actors for sure but nani got a lot of heat for his acting in previous projects and sky is almost 10 years into the industry and was in nadao (bkpp, tor, jayler company) so it's just normal for him to be good. the heterosexual lakrons that are shown in tv chanels are super duper cringe and yes personally I find them even more cringe than bls. the over dramatics will wear u down so bad if you're not used to them. for example jes from 4 minutes is a very established actor in thailand who usually does lakrons and for me 4 minutes was his best performance bc it wasn't dramatic and was very realistic. and I understand where you're coming from with the clothing and camera work but it's just the difference between different director's work and nothing else. P'fon (director of hsf) has more of a kdrama style approach while jojo always leans into more campy aesthetics. I've seen some comments here saying how they don't like the styling of the characters in thk but for me it's a highlight bc personally I really like camp aesthetic more and it's also getting praised highly by a lot of critics too

Same same , I don't know it's good or bad .
never take mdl criticism seriously lol while a lot of people really do give their honest constructive criticism, most of the people are just being miserable here or have ego of the size of the ocean. I was not expecting t like it bc I didn't like the trailer but I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun it was

we all know firstkhaotung are great actors but we really need to talk about how good they're with nc scenes. maybe not everyone will agree but they can do it in such a non cringe way, usually I cringe hard when gmmtv actors tend to do something more than just kissing but firstkhaotung are too good especially their expressions. The ability to do intimate scenes in such way is a huge compliment for actors and they've improved so much even from only friends and I liked their nc scenes in only friends but you could still sense some shyness back then but thei nc scene as kantbison was so smooth!

yes only friends made both first and khaotung popular in europe and I'm guessing thk will increase the popularity…
yes that's why I can't get into any other gmmtv ship except them. they're consistent with their acting and projects. them not acting (or wanting to act) in cheesy college/school romance might be the reason why they get so little projects bc gmmtv is always pumping out new corny school/college romances

If y’all think this is spicy then you’ve probably not watched some of the lgbt films made in Europe. Now I…
yes only friends made both first and khaotung popular in europe and I'm guessing thk will increase the popularity more. I like the fact that they've never done cutesy school/college romance, even tho eclipse was set is hs it was very intense plot wise and they were college students in of but I loved that it was not centered around college. which might be the reason for their international popularity being bigger than their local one bc thai fans definitely love cutesy plots over intense ones

Most of the International fans have Netflix . So there is no problem.
i know but the douban rating seems to be bad and I know douban is filled with hive minded people who hate on shows and actors out of spite so I'm hoping the huge international traction they're gaining will be enough to ensure the 2nd season

Agreed, but if you're talking about the My Best TV Awards, it's won the monthly drama poll but hasn't yet won…
regarding the elder thing, my half Japanese cousin is hoh and she told me that it made a lot of of buzz among her local deaf/hoh community and even some of the elder members are watching too, I've also seen some tweets from japanese locals highly praising it . and yes I know it's monthly poll but as far as my knowing goes it's hard for bls to win monthly polls too (I could be wrong)

please try to watch this drama legally and try talking abut it in social media. it's important to let the sponsors know that Taiwanese dramas can thrive even without the mainland support. The whole issue about the pretentious novel fans from the mainland is so absurd :/

jesus some of the comment on here screams ableist. this drama proved how much disability is fetishized among people bc the second this drama dived deeper in to the ugly reality of disability everyone started hating on it. "I hate maya, she's annoying and rude" btw you wouldn't survive 1 day in her shoes also saw someone calling her a midget like wtf? openly being ableist and using an offensive term under a drama about disability is definitely a choice. Also my last two cents are that, bl is an umbrella term this show's main focus was drama (disability and internal conflicts of the characters) rather than the romance and yes it's still a bl. it's a huge hit among the hoh community in Japan so much so that even elder deaf/hoh people are watching it and this is the only bl to win general tv drama poll after cherry magic and my beautiful man and i don't think people realize how huge that is, to win against other het dramas all the moms watch religiously. There's a huge chance it'll get big noms too so keeping my fingers crossed bc I really think this is one of the best jbls ever made
