I agree. In the novel, it feels shallow to me that it was emphasized the starting point of their argument was because Yifan is hiding something so Sang Yan got angry because of that-- Sang Yan wanted the explanation which she couldn't give that time.

In this drama version, they focused more on her trauma (it hurt her so much because no one cared for her back then her mom just brushed it off when she needed help) That scene was so heartbreaking really. It never occurred to her that she has Sang Yan because she had lost faith in everyone, she lost the will to live and just wanted to escape.

I really hope viewers understood the part when you're on the edge you gotta protect your peace first.
