I finished this novel when the show was announced and i agree with most of what you said but after a certain point she stops doing that and they become the best part of the novel and trust me it's worth the wait but for me I love the novel more because it had more depth and i felt i understood and felt for the characters more but they had to change because originally mu Sheng has romantic feelings towards mu yao which won't pass Chinese censorship and he is lot more dark in the novel but once his feelings turn towards miao miao the story becomes awesome

His mom comes from a really strong demon clan they r succubus demons as far as I remember and females are usually stronger in their race but due to mu sheng's half human nature he becomes very strong at the end of the novel more than anyone else from his clan i forgot the reason sorry 😅 it's explained clearly in the novel

Actually what happens is the brother runs to a remote town to avoid family pressure mets mu sheng's newly transformed (to human) mom thinks she is a pure innocent woman (which she is)and marries her as matter of course the dowager finds about it asks her brother to come to the capital and tells him that she is a demon and hid it from him (my memory is vague at this part )but this causes a clash between them he leaves her goes back to the capital .mu sheng's mom now finds that she is pregnant and all the neighbourhood men try to get with her because she doesn't have a husband it is very sad at this part.
Now about his dad after going back to the capital he realises his mistake and tries to return to her only to get into an accident and loses his memory so the dowager taking advantage marries him to another woman whom he doesn't like but doesn't know y he is constantly unhappy and i think he dies i don't remember well

U know some of the action scenes because of technical difficulties the whole water demon stuff happens in the boat they were travelling but recreating that is pretty difficult
When it comes to intimate scenes well this is cdrama and u know the Chinese censorship but the novel was also a little vague in describing those scenes but as long as the daily stuff are recreated everything will be fine
I'll give you a small example in the original dream mu Sheng has miao miao is wearing a dudou a traditional type of undergarment google it and he pulls it's strings to tease her and she hugs him to prevent it from slipping let's just say it's 🔥

Yah I hope they keep the marriage it's a pivotal part of their relationship not the marriage itself but the nuances and events surrounding it
And the best parts are not even the sex scenes it's the daily stuff and actions towards her the ways he tries to please her God one of them being combing her hair i don't know if you get it but while reading the novel him slowly transforming due to his love towards her was like watching your tree giving fruits I just wish there was a reality where there can be live actions that follow the novel word to word
