it’s been a year since I’ve watched this show and it’s still my all time favorite cdrama.
I cried, I laughed, I was screaming either from excitement or from shock I was kicking my feet with how married they are. It’s too underrated. A real masterpiece. I just miss them so bad 😭

I get where you’re coming from, and I agree that queerbaiting isn’t only about attracting queer audiences, it’s also about baiting shippers with unresolved romantic tension. I don’t disagree with that definition. Where I see it differently is when queerbaiting actually applies. To me queerbaiting requires the narrative to seriously imply a potential romantic development and then deliberately refuse to follow through. At this point, the show is being very upfront that the ‘gay moments’ are part of acting in a BL. Not that this is a show where 2 people will fall in love. In supernatural we were SURE that Cas and Dean were in love with each other, Cas even said I love you and everything but they never did anything about it. They just gave us false hope. They said NOPE haha it was only to attract you for the views. Here I think even tho it contains the “BL” trope they are pretty clear that it is what it is, they are not implying that these people will actually fall in love to confuse you and make you watch it. You know they won’t because they say it’s bromance. Or maybe I’m wrong. But we can’t be sure from just a trailer. If the show starts leaning heavily into romantic tension for hype while denying it narratively they you would be totally right. Based only on the trailer and premise, I think it’s too early to label it as such tho. That being said, I appreciate you explaining your perspective, especially the things about the industry . I think we’re interpreting the same elements differently rather than one of us not understanding the term. For me I don’t think it wants to harm or mock or make you think you’re gonna see a BL just to attract you to watch them. It’s a bromance. I guess when the official trailer comes out, even better when the show comes out we’ll actually see how they handle it. If they make us think it’s actually BL and then take it back yes then I’ll be with you. For now I’ll still stand by my opinion to say that this is not queerbaiting. But maybe some of my opinions are still wrong so I’m willingly to listen. Or maybe we should wait for the show to come out and then we can say our opinions again based on the actual episode (if you will watch it) Thank you for taking the time to write all that and not being rude but trying to explain. And btw god I hate Supernatural now, I was the biggest CasDean shipper and I still haven’t forgiven then (I still think that Skynani are not the same tho)

Imagine in real life we have 2 straight actors that they take the role of a BL. They do scenes where they intentionally do gay moments because THEY ACT. They are good actors. But the actors don’t actually fall in love they are besties or maybe not even friends at all in real life. Just because these 2 actors were straight and were doing their roles of having gay moments does that mean it’s queerbaiting? If you don’t like Skynani doing gay moments and not actually be gay I get not liking but it still doesn’t mean it’s queerbaiting (like actually making people think it’s BL and then say nope it never was sikeee)
Correct me of course but I strongly believe that. Like yes you all are free to say you don’t like it but not throw the word “queerbaiting” so easily when it’s such a serious matter that people nowadays say it like it’s the word goodmorning.

Just finished this. What a masterpiece. The plot and production was top tier. Unpopular opinion but I loved the second couple even more than the first. I’m gonna miss all them tho so much! And I’m just so so so happy with the ending. Definitely worth the watch ❤️

Queerbaiting means intentionally teasing LGBTQ romance to pull in queer audiences, while having zero intention of actually following through.This show isn’t doing that, it’s literally a story about two actors acting in a BL. That’s the plot, not hidden teasing. They don’t tease a “real romance” and then take it back. It’s just bromance. If you don’t like this genre there are plenty other actual BL you can watch. It’s not fake BL. It’s just not one!
