I'm sure Azuma's father is the boss of their company and he's going to threaten Hajime with something if he doesn't…
I do wonder if it has anything to do with his grandmother. One thing I've found is that everything mentioned at some point seemingly turns up at another point. Such as how Mao previously brought up doing CPR on someone and we found out that that's the reason why she was late to the new employee ceremony.
So it wouldn't surprise me if Hajime mentioning his grandmother means something later. It also wouldn't surprise me if somehow Azuma orchestrated the matchmaking with Hajime since she swore she'd get him to like her somehow.

I think it was the first episode where Mao's friend mentioned about Azuma being the daughter of some boss.
And I did see the trailer! I don't think he's crying because he has no choice but to divorce her, the scene looked more like he was frustrated and was probably being threatened, or he was giving threats towards Mao. I highly doubt he would let anything come between him and his first love, who soberly agreed to marry him this time.

I was slightly worried it was going to be slightly creepy, but was pleasantly surprised that I'm kind of okay with how their pasts intersected. I think I was worried about him orchestrating a chance to meet her, but it doesn't appear to be that way.
Haven’t watched episode 8 yet, but did see a bit that said something about Hajime having a fiancée. I wanna say he probably doesn’t know and the other person is probably Azuma. She got the notice before and made a comment of it being fate.
I’m excited to watch ep 8 though, and see their past story together!
Is it? It stated it will be 10eps. I think the rating or reception is good so there will be special eps
The end pic, after the preview for ep 8, it said something about how the next ep is number 8 and the next sentence said 12 in total, if I’m not mistaken. My last Japanese class was a couple of years ago
While I don't think this season was necessarily bad, I do think that they may have benefitted from having a longer season. Like if they had the breakup between Uehara and Nao happen midpoint with the two of them exploring and finding themselves as they attended college. It was brought up multiple times about them expanding their worlds and so I guess it would've been nice if we were able to see that with them. And while I liked the character of Natsume and thought he brought a different dynamic and tension to Uehara and Nao, I wanted more from him. Uehara was threatened and jealous and I just wanted to see more of him confronting those feelings. I also wanted to see Nao perhaps getting swayed by someone for the first time and not completely devoted to Uehara. I get that she was maybe trying to do that at the end, with her reinvention of herself, but ultimately she was doing it to get back with Uehara which kind of defeated the purpose. I just wanted her not to outright deny him every time and maybe start thinking about what if there was someone else out there that could be right for her, despite the history she had with Uehara.
Ultimately, I do think it was the short 10 episodes. If this season were as long as the first one, maybe they would've been able to explore more and cover more ground.
I really loved this series and loved the character of Morio. I do think the ending could’ve been better or at…
I guess my one big complaint would be how Yukiko didn’t give Morio a chance to understand her intentions. She just broke up with him not to hold him back, but she was the one who kept wanting to be upfront with things. I get that she didn’t want to become his burden because he was planning on rejecting the job offer, but I feel like her breaking up with him was taking the extreme route.
Also I kind of wish they didn’t jump a year ahead in the last episode to pretty much put us back to where we were before the breakup. Like Morio is fine after a year even though he previously suffered from abandonment issues? He said he was afraid of Yukiko leaving him, she promises she wouldn't, but then does just that. And then a year later he’s back to liking her like the breakup between them didn’t happen. I also feel like Yukiko should’ve been the one to tell him she wasn’t dating Hiyama and that he shouldn’t have heard it from someone else.
Overall, it’s a good series and if anything, I just think the last episode is kind of the weak link.
I really loved this series and loved the character of Morio. I do think the ending could’ve been better or at least handled differently, but besides that, it was a really fun watch!
I just completed this series and overall I enjoyed it, but was it just me or was the whole last episode like something…
In a way, to me, that specific part of the comedy of the whole cake making showed like the heightened pressure and anxiety Makoto was starting to feel while attempting to act normal. I think it also showed that there wasn’t a way for him to return to normal after participating in the scams. When Makoto threw the money out to Yamada, I think it was more like he wanted to just wipe his hands of everything yet it also showed how much he no longer cared about threats and wasn’t afraid of them. In the beginning he pleaded with Yamada not to touch his family, but in the last episode, Makoto called him an idiot and paid no kind when Yamada threatened to kill his mom., even right in front of her.
But overall for the ending, I don’t know if Makoto would go back to scamming people since he now knows the consequences. While he said there’s no one to save them in the world and he wouldn’t accept that, Misaki did save him from jail and I think her being there at the end, smiling at him, helped him realize that maybe there are nice people. I don’t think Shotaro showing up at the end would make him go back to scamming. Makoto looked kind of angry for being betrayed by him. I like to think that maybe Makoto would go to trying to scam the scammers in a way as a payback for all the pain he went through.
I just completed this series and overall I enjoyed it, but was it just me or was the whole last episode like something out of a comedy? I thought the whole cake making scene was absolutely hilarious.
