somehow the love triangle here sort of reminds me of “sound of the desert,” despite ML’s personalities being different than that drama (although 2nd lead men are veryyy similar here) it just has a similar vibe. especially since FL will clearly fall for 2nd ML first just like sound of the desert. anyone else reminded of the triangle there?

I can’t say I agree with people calling “My Dearest,” ending “fanservice.” I am glad it didn’t end with one of the leads being dead, as many predicted. There is enough death in real life, however, I wouldn’t exactly consider the ending 100% happy. GC and JH both must live in exile now, and JH seems to have a reoccurring memory loss problem due to his head traumas, If he doesn’t have it already I’d say he’ll get early on dementia very soon. Hopefully GC will just keep those rings handy and drop them when needed (if you know you know.) Anyways, RE ended up in jail, forever wondering what happened to JH, which is sad enough to me. As for Eun Ae she is stuck with a shit husband (I don’t care about the attempt at redemption towards the end, he will always be a cruel coward to me.) And FL’s father will probably forever be thinking his daughter was captured by barbarians. So all I’m saying here is that there are plenty “bittersweet” things about this ending and it isn’t exactly a disney-style “everyone is happy in the end.” Yes, the leads are together, but think about all that lost time they spent apart. If only YJ had told her sooner, like jesus christ dude, you didn’t even see his body? Anyway. This is just my opinion that even though the leads ended up together and they have each other there are still many depressing and sad things about the ending. I’m happy they got their little cottage in the woods though. ❤️

yup i am, dude made their lives a living hell for months and then gets to "redeem" himself at the end. it just wasn't realistic imo

i’ve learned to ignore ratings because of things like this. lol. there are plenty of dramas i’ve enjoyed with low ratings and then dramas i’ve had not as much fun watching that were rated as high as this one.
