i had a bad feeling about this drama before it aired. something about the actor being involved and writing himself as a main character made me think it would be a very self-serving project. i think i was correct to assume the worst. also what the hell does this say about china’s censorship system? a BL adaption where to male leads have a censored love story can’t possibly air yet this project that’s clearly a misogynistic, self-fulfilling and sexualization of women can? (the gifs linked further below prove that it is a project that views women as sexual objects yet was allowed to pass censors just fine) i think we all see how it is. as long as the idea of a “macho-male” is intact, the drama can pass just fine. very gross
a summary so nobody else has to watch—he didn’t mention this genre. nothing about new restrictions in terms…
The last part is definitely true. But I think that a lot of drama restrictions change fast. Also the “no makeup” rumor has been a thing since last year yet I’ve seen dramas come out this year where both leads clearly have full faces of makeup. It’s also important to know that this was a post from a director that was deleted. 😅
Bye...bye....c entertainment....more ban/restrictions 1 netcitizen said....might as well cancel l C ET 🤣🤣🤣https://youtu.be/feR399qT-YA
a summary so nobody else has to watch—he didn’t mention this genre. nothing about new restrictions in terms for xianxia. only thing in that video that could be relevant here is possible new restrictions on cp, if you care about that sort of thing.
i don’t remember sorry 🥺 i watched this ages ago and mostly watched the side couples scenes, but i hope other viewers here can tell you! i’m sure more people might recall 😅
i was like huh this actor hasn’t had any projects in a while.. well good for him he has an upcoming one.. until i checked what drama was upcoming 😭 lmao
i think that any webtoon/novel adaption casting is always hard to picture when the drama isn’t even out yet. and fans of the original work might be unsure about it but it’s always good to give a try because in the end i think the most important thing is that the actors involved give their best to the characters they are portraying, not if they look exactly like the characters.. but that’s just my opinion on it :)
i love that he had such a comeback with LBFD. i remember before it aired people were in the comments unsure if they should watch because they disliked his acting in previous dramas. this proves you should always give actors a second chance to prove themselves; you never know if they might surprise you.
