It would have made a whole lot more sense if the show ended when Chul "died", the villains were defeated and Seung Moo disappeared. It may not had been the happy ending that people desperately wanted (and got) for some reason, but it would have been a much more reasonable and logical one. But well, I guess I would be asking too much from a show that kept getting more and more ridiculous with every passing episode.
Honestly though, I was expecting an even more ridiculous ending so I can't complain too much. And despite the fact that many things on the show didn't really make much of a sense and there were things that I found annoying to say the least, it was a pretty fun watch overall, I must admit. It's also the drama that introduced me to Han Hyo Joo, so yeah, definitely no regrets on watching this.
I recommend "Ode to Joy" 100%. Definitely one of the best Asian dramas I've ever watched.
"When a Snail Falls in Love" looks great as well. I can't wait for it to start airing. I loved Wang Kai's and Wang Zi Wen's chemistry in Ode to Joy.
My god the last couple of episodes have been such emotional rollercoasters. My heart hurts for Fan Jie so much. Her family literally needs to die so she can be free from their bullshit :(

And the little moments between Xiao Xiao and Dr. Zhao were so cute! They better end up together, they're definitely the superior romantic ship on the show imo.
Even after 30 episodes the show is still so good :') This doesn't happen often in asian dramas.
Fan Jie's storyline is so heartbreaking :'''( All of her family are complete misogynistic pieces of shit. Having said that, I'm actually enjoying this storyline a lot. It gives a lot of depth to her character and I'd rather watch that than another romance storyline.
(btw, I still don't ship her with her classmate. he's not a bad guy, but the chemistry is not there at all imo)
I'm also really enjoying what seems to be the start of a friendship between Xiao Xiao and Ying Ying. Their interactions on episode 30 were really cute and I think Ying Ying can definitely learn a lot from Xiao Xiao. And it's good to finally see Xiao Xiao have cute playful interactions with someone other than AnDi. She's the only one that isn't close with the rest of the girls, even though we are more than halfway through Season 1.
My only complaint about the show rn is Qi Dian. My god he is such an obnoxious know-it-all. He thinks he knows everything and he judges the other girls like he is any better. The way he acts around AnDi is also so patronizing. And he has some serious jealousy issues as well. AnDi deserves so much better than him. Praying that she will drop his ass soon. If they make her end up with him I will be so disappointed. Seems like nowadays AnDi can't even have a proper scene by herself without Qi Dian being somehow involved. I'm sick of him.
And kind of irrelevant, but I gotta say I love Liu Tao and Jiang Xin's friendship irl. They love and admire each other so much, it's so heartwarming to see.
I don't care that much about the ships (I'm here for the friendships) but god I hope Doctor Zhao stays with Xiao Xiao and they won't make him and Guan Guan a thing. I love my girl Guan Guan but Xiao Xiao and Doctor Zhao is the only romantic ship that I actually like on this show. AnDi deserves better than QiDian and I'm also not feeling Fan Jie with her classmate.
