This isnât just a BL, itâs an emotional experience. A soft, healing, and deeply relatable story that stays…
I honestly have so much to say about this series, and yet I somehow find myself out of words to describe just how beautiful it is đâ¤ď¸âđŠš
Yes, everyone talks about how cute Duang is, how heâs the ultimate green forest and I completely agree. But this series is so much more than just that.
đ The Emotional Depth: Episode 11⌠it hit way too close to home. And I realized it wasnât just me, so many people felt that scene deeply. Thatâs how real and raw the emotions were portrayed.
When Duang says, âa hug is all it takes,â it genuinely broke something inside. Because sometimes, being held matters more than any words ever could.
And Qin saying, âI canât take it anymoreâ that moment carried so much weight. It quietly reminds you that unless you speak up, even the people who love you wonât know when youâre breaking. Duang was always there, watching, caring⌠but the moment Qin said those words, he didnât hesitate, he ran and held him.
Sometimes, asking for help is all it takes for someone to come running for you đ
Then that scene where Qin has to let go of his child self⌠it shattered me.
So many of us carry childhood wounds, and letting go of that version of ourselves is never easy. The way they showed it - everything pausing, his younger self holding his hand, crying⌠and then slowly letting go to hold Duangâs hand, it was heartbreakingly beautiful đ¤đđ
I cried so much watching that scene. It felt too real.
Another thing I absolutely adored was Duang and Jamieâs friendship. That kind of constant support; no matter the time, no matter the problem is rare and precious. Jamie being there for Duang through everything was such a pure depiction of true friendship â¤ď¸
And what this series shows so well is that one person doesnât have to be your entire world.
For Qin, Duang was everything - his comfort, his safe space, his protector. But for Duang, his world was beautifully balanced: he had his Family who support and encourage him for anything and everything he wanted to do, his greatest friends to cheer so loud for him that Duang didn't hear any of his haters and of course, the love of his life Qin, to take care of him, to tell him "he's great in his own unique ways".
I believe everyone deserves a âDuangâ in their life, not necessarily as their fean, but as someone. A sibling, a friend, a parent, anyone⌠someone who holds you when you canât take it anymore, someone who reminds you that you matter.
And maybe, this series gently teaches us to also be that person for someone else.
â Final Verdict: This isnât just a BL, itâs an emotional experience. A soft, healing, and deeply relatable story that stays with you.
I would genuinely recommend everyone to watch it at least once. This masterpiece truly deserves it â¤ď¸â¤ď¸
Wait... Hold on, WHEN did NorthOtto become a thing???? I mean, I've been waiting for NorthWave only to realise it was never NorthWave to begin withđđđđ Bro I didn't know about itđđđđ (No hate to NorthOtto, I'm just a little disheartened as I was hoping to see NorthWaveđđ)
why does it say that it's a Korean Drama??? Is it really going to air this time? If yes, will it air all over the globe or just Korea? I'VE SO MANY QUESTIONSđ¤Żđ
You lost me at the fetishized response about NC scenes.
I get what you mean. Iâm actually not usually into NC scenes eitherâwhat I meant was more about their chemistry and acting making those moments feel natural rather than something Iâd skip.
I wouldnât say I liked it, but I didnât hate it either - it comfortably sits in that one-time watch zone.
FirstKhaotung are, without a doubt, the strongest part of the series. Their chemistry is effortless, their expressions feel natural, and their dialogue delivery is always on point. You can see why theyâre such a loved pair.
But hereâs where it didnât fully work for me - they shine so much more in intense, morally grey, bad-boy roles than in soft, fluffy ones. After watching them in Only Friends (and those NC scenes đ¤¤â¤ď¸), this softer dynamic just feels a little underwhelming in comparison. Itâs not bad, it just doesnât hit the same.
The storyline itself isnât bad at all. Itâs simple, sweet, and easy to follow. Thereâs no heavy angst, no big emotional rollercoaster, and no major twists - which can be comforting if youâre in the mood for something light. But at the same time, that lack of depth makes it feel a bit flat and forgettable.
Honestly, I feel like this was more of a casting mismatch than a story issue. The plot needed a pair that naturally fits the soft, cute vibe, while FirstKhaotung feel made for something darker, sharper, and more layered. With different casting or a more intense script, this couldâve been much more impactful.
If youâre a FirstKhaotung fan, you can give it a try for their chemistry alone. But if youâre expecting something gripping or emotionally strong, this might not fully satisfy.
I'm giving it 6/10 and yes, most of that is for FirstKhaotungâs chemistry đťâŁď¸
