The director did genres that will not attract attention as they prioritize romance here in mdl but I am well aware of the success in domestic. I'm also curious on how is this gonna work out since this is the first time the director will lead a costume fantasy drama. Domestic success will always be my top priority but what I need is more international exposure that they deserve. Btw, this is not my first time in Minghao's drama to experience this but they released the wrap up pics and wrap up special edition vid and went silent for a year. They also did not participate to investment promotions nor release materials in festivals but the drama Dashing Youth did well domestically especially when the genre male centric as a whole is not that popular in mainland. It just currently sits here in mdl with only like 7k watchers. Romance genre will always be the easy one to sell to chinese viewers. At the time of this writing, there are only 11 costume dramas who have 20+ million ave views per ep this year and Dashing Youth is the 11th entry to that list. Many popular stars are struggling right now to get on this list and also many dramas have aired after his drama Dashing Youth but till now there is no news for the 12th entry. I don't know if you have heard of it but their industry is experiencing "winter/cold season" rn. I shared to support your point about mdl as the international hyped show can have near 10-15k+ watchers here after just finished airing but Dashing Youth performed better if we talk about domestic. What I want is international attention and I meant it as not limited to mdl.

I share the same sentiments. There are many good and potential cdramas who are not in short of promotions and this is getting left behind. Being lowkey is a double edged sword especially the television and film industry is experiencing "winter/cold" season rn.

For me nothing is too early when this drama deserves to be known and spread out there. And I believe that it's not wrong for me to yearn for more materials to promote Minghao's and the other casts hardwork. I don't even demand them to release their true trailer if they don't want to. What I'd like is the wrap up pics and wrap up special edition vid which we were robbed! At least let the fans know that it's done DONE. What pissed me off is that no one knows back then that they truly finished filming causing Minghao to be scolded with fake news saying he filmed a variety show midway while filming this but it turns out he wrapped this up first before going. This type of silence did not sit well with me. And I haven't heard a studio to have that too much power to dps and reuters. They can issue a statement not recommending to buy from dps to prevent leaks but having the power to control them.......this is a first for me if what you said is true.
Btw this is rumored to air at Q1 of 2025 and I'm not saying this is 100% reliable so if this true, they need to do that promo now.

Yes, I'm unsure lmao even ckiwis are just doing the guessing game if they will release any materials or not 😔. Tbh with you, I'm also tired hoping might as well not expect at all so it will be highly rewarding and satisfying if they surprise us with content.
I must say that I feel kinda bummed that this is not getting the international attention that it should have and deserves!. Minghao's other dramas such as Fangs of Fortune and Love in the Clouds are obviously not short of international hype but in this drama it's just eerie silence 😔. They don't even bother to drop the english title to help make the promotion of international kiwis easier because some will not bat an eye if you give the title in pinyin 🤦. They are also stingy giving materials.
Regardless of my rant, this is one of his roles that I'm most looking forward to especially because of the team behind and his character setting!. They need to give materials in the upcoming investment promotion pls oh pls so it will increase the interest here in mdl and in other soc meds. We need to spread the word that this drama exists.
Ofc they are gonna say that. They are all literally "equal" in billing lmao 😂. I will need to see the drama myself because if they really have all equal screentime and no main cp to focus in here (which I'm not convinced btw), it's gonna be all over the place and don't forget the true supporting roles are gonna eat up the screentime too to move the plot forward. And since this is a YZ production, I don't trust that vile man's words even a lil bit. It will all depend on the screenwriter's skills.
This is such a huge ensemble cast. Ten leading roles. Five fls and five mls. Five couples. What's worrying about this "equal billing"/rotation billing" for the ten of them is that it is possible that the drama will focus on one cp to flesh out their storyline and then the rest will be looking like extras or support roles but that one main cp will not be safe either because their screentime is gonna get sacrificed to give some way to the other four cps. And it's currently written to be 32 episodes only. I've checked native sites too btw but still depends on the review board on how many it truly is. Judging from 32 episodes only, how is this even gonna work. Don't tell me they will all fall in love by episode 3 already lol. Let's see!
