Title Glory
"Glory" is Mango TV's big opening production of the new year. It is a domestic intrigue and moral-ethics drama. Hou Minghao plays Lu Jianglai, originally a county magistrate who refuses to collude with his corrupt superior.

He is framed and ends up losing his memory, then enters a matrilineal household where he becomes a stable hand (essentially a gender-reversed version of a traditional inner-household intrigue story).

After many events unfold, he eventually regains his memory, only to uncover the truth of his extraordinary origins.

#houminghao: #theuncloudedsoul may look like it’s telling a story of love entanglement that spans three lifetimes, and the changes different characters go through. but what it’s really showing is more about karmic consequences, i think. if you commit a mistake in this life that can never be undone, then you may end up spending the next several lifetimes paying it back.

#houminghao: i think that the hong ye ten thousand years ago had many darker, scheming sides and a lot of selfish motives. he might even, for the sake of humanity or for certain interests, choose the most extreme methods—sacrificing some people in order to achieve final victory when he had no other choice. even though from his own standpoint he believed he wasn’t wrong, i think he actually did something wrong and spent the rest of his life trying to make up for it.

#tansongyun: hou minghao is a very dedicated actor. he designs a lot of subtle, underlying details for his character.

#wangduo: he’s very serious. for every scene’s emotional performance and lines, after we finish filming he’ll call me and we will study and discuss these scenes together.

#guoyunqi: there’s firmness in his eyes, but also gentleness. even very subtle expression or just the way he lifts his gaze somehow makes you feel like there’s a ‘halo’ around him.

#chenxinhai: i feel that minghao is especially dedicated. i remember once, after he finished filming his part, he changed into his regular clothes and came back to help me run lines. i was deeply moved at that moment.

#tansongyun: as a person, he’s someone with a strong sense of responsibility. he’s also very sensitive and a delicate/emotionally perceptive person.

dir. xu jizhou: when i interacted with hou minghao, i felt in terms of looks, he was exactly the hong ye i imagined. and when i chatted with him, i realized xiao hou is actually still very pure at heart. that’s why i chose him to play hong ye.
