Actually - one thing ... do you feel like some of the symbolism was a little bit in your face? Like I loved the hibiscus theme but there was just one or two moments where it almost felt like the director was saying "HERE, I'm giving you something cool, LOOK HERE!" Maybe it was just me, but I almost wanted them to trust the viewers a bit more, so that we could find those gestures for ourselves as extra gifts in the show to treasure :P

Loved your review of this one, I agree wholeheartedly! This was definitely in my top 5 from last year. I hear a lot of BL enthusiasts name it more as a queer drama, because you're right - it doesn't have the same (bordering on cheap?) vibe as so much of the BL world. The intensity, the actors, the music, the visuals - it was all a feast, but more than that, it really fed my soul. I will re-watch this one day, but for now it was so intense that I think it will take me awhile to recover! Watching Bilkin/PP and Nadao closely for what they produce next. :)

Thank you Ximmich, this one was a bumpy ride for me but I'm so glad you agree on that last episode - it definitely made the ride worth it! It took me by surprise, which is a revelation since BL is so often predictable. We love a good HEA hey, but nice to know it can still be pulled off in a fresh and oh so beautiful way. :)
