Seems like ep. 1 and 2 were in the same universe since we saw Earth play Ozone again in the second episode. I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the episodes were in the same universe, so there's your reason to give every episode a try and not be a creepy BL fan ;)
I think the Thai version is more raw. I noticed a bit of censoring and "toning it down" in this remake. Which is fine and fair because the original was actually very triggering (for necessary reasons) but I think that's important. I do like that they incorporated longboarding in the Chinese remake even though doing tricks on a skateboard and downhill longboard racing have nothing to do with each other lol. There are redeeming qualities for both series, so if you can, watch them both. My favourite is the Thai version.
